[Fab.com] Alpsulator for only 27 bucks!

If you're not a fab member, just know that these sales only last for about 72hrs.
They only have the white one, though.  I have one these and love it.  I think it has white simplified alps (Simplified Type II).  They are way heavier than blue MX.  Nice and loud too.

Update: Its a membership site, but you can get in without waiting if you use my invite link:

Sweet! I've been looking for two ALPSulators, for me and a friend. Pity they're white (I prefer black) but I suppose I can paint mine.

How do you get on fab.com? There's some sort of membership?

We’ve received your invite request.
You are #2467 in line today.

Will I get in in time?

Edit: No, I've been inadvertently sucked into social networking. Help me out!

I don't have a Twitter, or Facebook or any of that. I didn't know fab.com was such a fad! how can I escape from this, my reputation untarnished?

Ah!  I meant to paste this earlier.  This is my invite link, it should get you in.

It really is a cool site.  I have a college friend who just got a job there.  Its kinda like Woot + Etsy + a bunch of designer goods that never go on sale anywhere (but fab.com).
Enjoy! Oh, and if you buy stuff after joining using my link, I get credits <- full disclosure =)

XM? They have a very nice SNAP to them.  I've tried complicated alps before, but I don't recall the feeling to compare.

That is lame... especially since Canada basically is US.

If I had literally any use for a really really nice calculator I would buy the crap out of that.

But I don't and i'm also poor.

Good find though.

And I don't believe that Canadians invented basketball entry.  You don't have black people!

It was invented in the states by a canadian IIRC. Canadians invented lacrosse, which we're not nearly as proud of.

We have centuries of colorful history.  Canadians have Justin Bieber and Celine Dion and Shattner.

Yes, colourful history... native massacres, slavery, civil war, covert actions overthrowing third world democracies, illegal invasions and occupations...

I guess Canadians are just too boring to do all that.

I ordered two, but before I saw your link (sorry)

Thanks for the post, though!

It also acts as a numpad/tenkey. that's why I got it.

I thought it was invented by the native americans and only standardized later? I remember something about hats coming into the reason they named it lacrosse.

Also, I would be happy to order a third for a canadian friend if they want to pay shipping twice. Had I known before, I would have added a third to my order, just in case. (or to sell at cost on the forums in case someone missed out.)

Invented the Goalie mask I see.  That is a popular Canadian weapon whenever I watch hockey.

BTW the Red version is the leet one.[snip]

By the way, I assume you bought a "boxful" since they are 50% off, or are you really waiting on IKEA to pick it up?

Great calculator though.  I don't recommend it at this price point.  The plastic is glossy, build quality OK but closer to Fisher Price than Topre.  Too damn expensive but if Ikea ever picks it up and sells it at 50% buy a boxful for friends and family.  Plus, I got a White Alps switch now and now know what Welly is talking about when he says MEATY.
