Broken Cherry MX Blue

Hey guys, I bought a Rosewill RK-9000 with Cherry MX Blue switches almost exactly a year ago and haven't had any problems with it until tonight. I was playing Starcraft 2 when out of nowhere my CTRL key stopped functioning. At first I thought it was the game so I restarted SC2, but still no luck. It only started about 14 minutes into the game. After further inspection it seems as if the key will work if pressed down extremely hard, is there anything I can do immediately in order to get it working? If so how much will it cost? And will Rosewill be willing to help me out if I email support?

Worth a try. Did you spill anything on it ? Clean it ?

Bought same model from ChiefValue last October, and recently started having a chattering issue with mine (double types certain keys).  Contacted ChiefValue and they can only credit or a refund, as they do not carry the keyboard anymore.  Have you taken the key cap off and inspected to see if there is any physical debris in there?  That would probably be the main cause for your issue, especially if the key is still working if pressed hard enough.  Shoot some compressed air down the shaft (yes I said shaft) too and see if anything comes out.  I personally just ordered rubber O-ring dampeners to see if they would fix my chattering issue.

Didn't spill anything on it, it was in my backpack for a 50 min car ride so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it.

I bought mine off newegg, and I'm not sure how they deal with refunds of this product, although they still have it in stock.

I took the key cap off earlier when it started happening and there was a ton of dust and crumbs (I eat a ton at my pc) so that could definitely be it. I'll shoot some compressed air down it tomorrow and let you guys know if it changes anything.

I started getting double actuations of number pad "-" on my FILCO. I thought it may be dirt, but I checked with The Keyboard Company and they suggested solder; on checking I found that the switch case could be pressed down slightly, and the key would stop working entirely if the switch itself was pressed down, but worked perfectly if I gently pressed the slider without any strain on the switch case. The switch then snapped into place and died.

The switch was soldered while not snapped into place, and the solder was bearing the strain of keystrokes and finally gave after nearly two years of heavy use. For the moment I've put a Signature Plastics "PANIC" key on that switch until I get around to sending it back for service (fortunately I've kept at least one box in the cupboard Also fortunate that the keyboard has a degree of redundancy

Apparently keys soldered while not correctly locked in place was a manufacturing fault with the Majestouch 1 that was resolved with the Majestouch 2; I don't know to what extent if any the Rosewill was affected by soldering problems.
