Cherry MX Brown/Blue Switches Question
« on: Wed, 04 January 2012, 12:28:03 »
Hi guys, right now I am considering to get either Filco or Das Cherry MX Blue or Brown switches.

I have tried:
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate (Cherry MX Blue) - Typing feel on blue was really good, noise didn't bother me since I loved it! but there was a faulty key, so I returned it.
Corsair Vengeance K90 (Cheery MX Red) - I have difficulties typing with Red and personally didn't like this switch much compare to the blue.

Keyboard I am thinking to buy is either:
Das Ultimate Keyboard (MX Blue)
Filco Majestouch-2 (MX Blue)
Filco Majestouch-2 Yellow Edition Tenkeyless (MX Blue)
Filco Majestouch-2 Yellow Edition (MX Brown)

Recently seen a lots of review of these keyboards, and both brand seems great! but personally I am a bit more into the Filco but they are expensive than Das.
From these 4 keyboards that I am thinking, I am more into Yellow Edition because personally looks great but sadly they do not have blue switch for with tenkey.
However with tenkey or tenkeyless it doesn't matter too much, but seems having tenkey may be good (I don't use often though).

My question is there big difference between blue and brown switches? from what switches I tried (Red and Blue) I prefer clicky and tactile switches better.
I know Blue is best for typing and Brown is depends on personal opinion but it is about 70% Typing and 30% Gaming, I won't be able to try both keyboards since I am not willing to do returning work and trying to get right keyboard with one shot.

I seems more Cherry MX Blue sided, but this is because of haven't tried Brown at all, so suggestion for the which keyboard to go is appreciated!

get the tenkeyless, the Browns are more popular than the Blues and you've already had a blue so go with the browns

because you can always buy a keypad seperate if y ou have to input some data and the tenkeyless allows for better posture and keeps the keyboard square with your body and the mouse closer

Okay thank you! for me tenkey is pretty much useless, since I don't type any numbers data, so I think I am going with tenkeyless.
But do you have any your personal opinion about either: Filco or Das?
As I just said I am going with tenkeyless, now I do have choice for Filco Yellow Edition (MX Blue) switch, so I may go to the safe zone and buy blue instead of brown... hard to decide really.
