Filco Majestouch 2 (Brown, UK) keys swapped
« on: Mon, 16 January 2012, 04:32:52 »
Hi all,

I just received my Majestouch 2 in the mail, very very nice, i've never owned a mechanical keyboard before.

1 thing that almost gave me a heart attack was, I lifted it out of the box, nice and heavy, placed it down on the table to have a good press on the body to feel how rigid it was, and, oh no, the thing was wobbling really badly. checked the feet and they seemed fine. Was about to start re-packing to return to vendor when i tried it on another table, and it was fine (of course it was going to be fine). True story.

Anyway, a slightly annoying problem i do have is my at symbol and quote mark keys are mixed up. I can only assume this is software related issue, would anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks if anyone can,

Ferdia

Hmm got access to a level measure your table might be the problem as you say it is fine on another table?

@ and " switched sorta implies either the keys are wrong or you have a US layout. Is your enter key small or big? Not to big an issue as you can just switch to UK layout although |\ would be in a different position.

Hey, the version I ordered was the UK version (or so I intended it to be)

the enter key is the larger style one.

The first table I put the keyboard on was definitely uneven. Actually, the # key is swapped with a pound sign. I cant even type the pound sign as it's nowhere to be found on this keyboard. well it's printed on the 3 key, however pressing this results in the # symbol.

Am trying not to stress out about this too much as i used to have an older keyboard which may have screwed up this one somehow. I hope this is a 'software' type problem!!!!

Just change your keyboard language settings to UK and you should be 'ok'.

thanks for your help stingrae,

I tried using this keyboard on my laptop and all keys seem to be fine. This problem seems unique to my computer which is to be swapped with a new pc later this week.

Out of interest, how do you change the language settings?

Windows? run: intl.cpl, keyboard and languages, change keyboard. Figure it out from there.

Aye, Win XP.

Thanks laffindude, worked a charm. Was in the US layout all along, probably having updated my crappy Logitech keyboard software a while back.
