I'd suggest getting Black Edition though. It doesn't have the shiny sides, instead it's all rubberized increasing the grip. It's a very good mouse indeed.

The one thing I was curious about with the Black Edition was the surface. Does the surface also have the rubbery coat as well as the sides? That would definitely change my decision. Also, a slight concern is the different firmware from the 3.5G makes me worry if the laser is just as good or not, but I'm pretty sure it's not.

It's got rubbery top like the regular Deathadder. Sides are slightly different texture but still very high quality, much better than normal Deathadder. Another difference is a black scroll wheel and lack of LEDs which for me is another advantage.
