Cherry Mx Red Keyboards

I want to get a Cherry Mx Red Keyboard but I cannot decide which one, here is a list of the ones I have looked at and I would like to hear what you guys have to say is the best one. I also would really like to eventually mod it to be white on black but I have hear that there are problems with the Leopold spacebar that make it so you can't mod them. Here are the keyboards I am considering.

Rosewill RK-9000RE

Ducky DK1008-R

Leopold FC200RR/AB

I would get a Filco but they are impossible to get with MX reds nowadays. I have heard the Ducky has some quality issues, can anyone tell me if that is true? I have also heard the Rosewill board has the same OEM as the Filco, is that true as well? Finally what ones could I mod to have all white PBT keys (Including the Space Bar.)? Thanks a bunch.

Leopold spacebars can be replaced (I'm typing from a Leopold with a custom blue spacebar right now), but they have a non-standard spacing for their stabilizer mounts, so the more common Filco style spacebars won't work unless you want to actually *mod* the keycap, which some people on here have done. Leopolds are relatively new on the scene and are fairly popular, so hopefully we'll be seeing more custom Leopold spacebars in the future.

Rosewill is a pretty safe choice if you're looking for a full-sized keyboard. They do have the same OEM as the Filco (Costar) and are significantly cheaper.

The Ducky 1008 is supposedly very poorly made, but the Ducky 9008 is higher quality and should be more in line with the Rosewill and Leopold.

All of those keyboards would work with white PBT keys, but be aware that PBT Cherry MX spacebars are not particularly common. They are out there, but you might have to do a bit of hunting.

Okay thanks for the advice. I think I am gonna go with a Leopold and stick some white PBT keys on it. Can you send me any links about how to mod space bars to fit the Leopold.

TheProfosist can mod it for you for a small fee. It also includes the spacebar, although ABS I think. You basically just have to take the stem and put it in the proper location to fit the Leopold switches.

I would stay away from Ducky because if you want a full sized keyboard with reds you might as well get a Rosewill or a WASD. If you want a TKL model then you almost have to go with the Leopold unless you want a CM storm ( which has disgusting logos).

If you go full sized then I suggest WASD because I also dislike the Rosewill logo.

In fact I just hate logos.

If you don't minde the JIS layout you can get the Filco 108 and 91 from Keyboardco.

Where are you located ?    If you are in Europe or that area I would probably suggest a leopold or CM Storm if you want Tenkeyless.   They have different stabalizers ( CMStorm is like Filco, Leopold is like Cherry ). If you are in the states then I would say a WASD if you are ok with full size. Keep in mind that the WASD now has the bare bones systems So you basically get $30 knocked off that can be applied to the PBT caps.

also note that spacebars from KBC have the extra holes for leopold spacebars.  At least there are some options out there.
