Hey all,

So, for those who've seen me around in the Group buy/Keycaps sections, will know that I crank out a ton of images to use/concept. And you may have seen in my signature that I will make SVGs/images for people.

TheProfosist has been kind enough to lend me a space here to offer my services (I don't think what I'm doing needs a whole subforum).

So basically, I will be offering help to people who need some images made. Here's just a list of things I can do:

.SVG

These are what we send to SP for the legends of custom keycaps.

.AI

For WASDkeyboards layout, I can do layouts for those too lazy to get Illustrator or want to have some nice artwork/symbols on their keys.

Others

I have no idea what you may need, but I'm mainly experienced with making vector graphics.

Just add one half of the guy at each portal that you've already made and someone group buy it please! It could be dyesub for our multi-colour and PBT pleasure.

Yeah, like this, one on each key... R1. Plus do orange / blue portal for 1.25 R4 + an aperture R1 and what a nice set. I suggested it in the first portal gb, but didn't seem to be popular enough. Excuse the different fonts, I was being ultra lazy.

Oh, I like the minecraft keycap! would be cool if there were keycaps with sword, pick, axe, other blocks from 1 to 0 for your inventory, and the creeper for Esc.

When 2/3 of my GB closes I'll get on it, I was thinking of a Wyse moogle kit first since that has never been done, but this is so awesome I don't know if i can resist :bowl:

I like he Wyse moogle kit too. I think there are at least 2 types Wyse keycaps and they look to be different fonts. See the 2 Wyse Esc keys here:

Does this look right? I feel its a bit "off because of how the image had flat portals looking from the side.

I know how everyone likes the minecraft stuff. But don't go and just have them made by SP. All the things mentioned (creeper/blocks/pickaxe) are copyrighted. I don't feel that we should "trick" SP and have them made even if they don't know where the ideas are from. I will hapily pump out concepts for it. But I will disagree with having them made until we get licensing for them.

Looks good, I like it because it's much more simple while the other portal is cool but once you add the person it got so complicated. How does it look in 1.25 modifiers for R4 it would make a nice replacement for the win key or any of those keys down there.

I think that would be cool = ) Just check that the image we used isn't copyrighted (I think its in one of their logos). Wait... You know what I don't know my legal stuff. We need a lawyer in here!

I think because blue and orange go as a pair, it only makes sense to go on some keys that are pairs like Ctrl/Alt/Super = D

Yes indeed but only on ANSI. They would look good also in PrintScreen/PauseBreak or F1/F12 or F1/PauseBreak. The coolest would be in my opinion in different rows (eg. F1/rightArrow).

I think they're all 1x R1 because they should :tongue:

unless for some other special reason (eg. Riddler's "?") or personal preference.

There are more 1x keys on a board than 1.25x keys.

I don't mind. But matching Win keys kinda made me tingle a bit|

I'm not sure if I like that as much with the break, BUT the change should be enough to negate copyright issue, since it technically isn't the portal 2 logo anymore.

How make them as SHIFT keys? That would be out of the ordinary for sure, and also like a bad pun.

Not a bad idea, but there is a bit too many variation for the shift, ANSI, ISO, Choc Mini and I think there's more

While the 1.25x can sit on control/alt/win/menu/fn which is a little more versatile

Which I guess is why 99% of groupbuy keys are R1, they work on any board. If make on 1.25 you'll have someone *****ing it don't look good on their old 1.5 Cherry, Choc Mini or Black Widow, if make on tab and ANSI \ complaints from ISO people, if make on shift have to make 5 variants sizes or whining... or just cover ANSI and ISO if enough interest and be good for over 90%. If it don't fit, too damn bad should have bought a board with standard key sizes.

The amount of 1.5x win boards are comparably much lower then the variety of shift keys, but I do agree thats why 1x R1 is so popular

Same. Gonna need more keyboards for my keycaps = p

Tho 1.25x fits on 1.5x slots. It just leaves this tiny gap.

ok opposite of WASD. I have never ordered anything from SP before because I usually want custom legends and WASD is the only cheap way.

Cept I realized, I don't have a real use for the FN key. (I plan on using the numlock to toggle between the modes of that numpad area). WHAT DO?

I used the template WASD supplies. For TheProfosist's I had to shifted some stuff around, But not measured or anything. I believe WASD would be smart enough to put the keys on his lazer engraver/etcher appropriately or move the things round on the file sent. But that's cos TheProfosist asked if he could do his custom layout. (I asked him about doing it as well, he says he may work out something for people who are doing keys for like a phantom).

Otherwise for my personal one, I'm just changing the legends on the keys and not moving they keys around.
