Help: KBC Poker PCB not sticking to the case :/
« on: Sat, 21 January 2012, 03:37:41 »
I've found out what was making that awful sound when typing on my Poker on some keys around center and top of it: the PCB is not sticking to the underlying case.
I'm going to get an appropriate screwer today.
It looks like there isn't any screw at the centre of the keyboard and at the top of it. That's a shame because the PCB cannot be stuck on the support. But maybe it 's impossible for them to put any screw there...
The screws might be as well too tight. I will try to unscrew them a lil bit.

Has anybody experienced that and got an explanation / solution for that ? I'm fed up with this pinging sound that makes this nice device and awful flimsy one.

The center has a bit of a PCB support issue. I've heard of someone disassembling it and placing some foam underneath the PCB so the PCB has something to lay on.

I've found. My table is very hard and screwed to the walls so that's not helping for the sounding of typing. Moreover the PCB was vibrating on the case due to the fact that first, this keyboard lacks of screws in the center and top of the PCB and second, the existing screws are too tight.
I've lowered the force and I've put as well some small bands of double sided foam plasters on the PCB supports inside of the case.

Now it doesn't vibrate anymore when you type a lil bit loud. Howerver it stays a lil bit flimpsy built keyboard compared to a HHKB2 or a Noppoo Choc Mini, but I'm quite happy to have found this solution!
