Blues, reds, browns

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase my first mechanical keyboard and one thing I'm stuck on his which switches to choose.

My main focus is competitive MMO gaming (WoW) and while I understand that people recommend black switches for (FPS) gaming, I'm assuming those would be bad in an MMO environment where my reaction is done with the keys and not with the mouse.

I am currently looking at the "noppoo choc mini" specifically because of the positioning of the F keys which would make for easier key binding (again stressing the emphasis on MMO gaming).

I don't do a lot of heavy typing.

My question is to anyone with experience with MMO gaming or just gaming in general what would be the best to use between cherry MX blue/red/brown. At the moment I'm thinking blue would be too light and considering the brown switches, but there is also red. As I said I have no experience with any of them so this is all presumption and speculation, I would appreciate any help.

I would think MMO would go well with RTS. Most working with RTS prefer the browns for the slight tactile feedback and the fact that the reset and actuation are so close together.   The honest truth is that any of them will work fine for gaming , people just have preferences based on their own style.

Blues aren't really lighter than browns although I think they "feel" lighter to my fingers. Reds "feel" very light due to the lack of tactility.

To be honest I think you can't go wrong with browns as a first choice.   I prefer blues and browns for everything but probably browns the most of all.

Brown is 10g lighter than blue, and red is lighter than brown (no bump), so if you prefer heavy switches black is your choice.

I play a lot of LoL and Dota, less WoW then before and I find reds to be perfect. I can see brown being ideal as well.

If you spam a lot / always bottom out I'd go with reds. Especially since you say you care less about typing then reds should be perfect.
