PLEASE HELP: Steelseries Shift is not detected during the boot

Hey everyone, first time poster here, long time lurker.

I need your help resolving this idiotic issue: my steelseries shift is not recognized by the system during the boot process.
Anytime power shuts down completely (i.e. no idle power, and all the lights on kb are off), and I try to boot the system again, I get this message:



I hooked up my second keyboard (majestouch nkro) and turned off the "halt on keyboard error" option in BIOS, and now at least I am being able to load Windows.
The keyboard works perfectly fine once I am in Windows (typing on it right now), it is only a few months old, can't seem to find the solution anywhere.

Please help!

Here's more detailed info:

The keyboard lights are on when I am trying to boot, so it is powered
I tried PS/2 interface, as well as all the usb ports (majestouch was used in usb mode)

Motherboard: Foxconn FlamingBlade
Bios v.: P04
Bios id: X58A02.F1
OS: Win7 x64
CPU(?): i7930@4.0

Please help me out with any suggestion you might have, I'd hate to get rid of a brand new kb just because of this stupid issue (Can't RMA it)

now at least I am being able to load Windows.

I considered picking up this keyboard a while back, it does have some interesting features, unfortunately not the main one I was looking for. The fact is that some hardware simply wont work correctly with certain other hardware no matter what you try, at least you are able to get all the features in Windows. I am not familiar with your motherboard, but you might check and see if your BIOS has a "USB Backward Compatibility Option" somewhere, if that is turned on, it may be causing issues.

You might try updating your motherboard BIOS as well, I am not sure of your exact motherboard model number, but there are newer versions of BIOS for Flamingblade's on Foxcann's site.

SOLUTION FOUND:

For anybody that might have this problem in future, go to BIOS -> Integrated Periphials -> USB Device setting
and put the USB Operation Mode on Full/Low Speed. That resolves the issue completely



Thanks Thagarr for your suggestion, and even though the motherboard didn't have a "USB Backward Compatibility" Option, it made me tweak around with every USB option the BIOS had, until I singled out the one that was causing the problem.
