Author Topic: How do you guys travel with your Poker? What do you carry it in? (Read 3608 times)

Hey guys I recently got a KBC Poker( a little late in the game) and I am trying to figure out a solution to carrying it in my messenger bag i.e. sleeve or case. Any suggestions?

I'm a (soon to be) new Poker owner and am really sad I missed out on those aluminum backs. I think for travel I might end up building an acrylic box for it. It's actually fairly trivial to assemble one (cut to size, "weld" with acetone, etc). What I think I might do with mine though is make a slide out top...so one of the sides of the box will have to fit into grooves in the two other sides.

I would be interested in seeing better solutions though.

I have a Choc Mini and I carry it around in my messenger bag. It has a nice slot for laptop that's padded, so I put it there when I'm not carrying my tablet as well.

I was thinking about something like this but obviously made to fit the Poker these people that make these on etsy I am sure would appreciate the orders from a GB.

Every time I go into Brookstone I keep wanting to buy this thing and make it a case for keyboards.

I have seen several cheap poker chip sets with cases like that and really considered it!

I had these made at work, but you could EASILY do it by hand.

Then just use Bondo to make it rigid. I keep mine in the original micro-foam sleeve.

Man, the Waterfield sleeve and official HHKB bag are tempting.
I am making use of a leftover 13" notebook sleeve.
It fits both my Poker and HHKB!

I always think of buying a special bag just for my kb, but the price for a bag is usually half the price of another kb so I just use my backpack. (I don't have topre, or hhk, if I did id probably buy a bag)

I just throw it in my laptop backpack, it's held up for months. The only type of keyboard you need to really protect during transport are scissor keys.

I actually received that for Xmas but left it at moms house out of state because I didn't want to fly with the sharp objects. When I get it I might convert it :-)

Ok so I got my SFbags waterfield design short keyboard sleeve today and wow! I was hesitant to spend $50 on a sleeve, but I am really glad that I did because the quality is amazing and I don't think there is anything else on the market as nice as this.

The aluminum poker fits quite nicely in there and no problem with the feet. I only wish the case was about an inch longer and that the buckle strap was also about an inch longer, but other then that it is perfect and I even have room to shove a cable in there.

So go buy this sleeve

Looks awesome, may I ask why the u key is slightly different from the others?

Wish they sold this in the UK, since my poker is soon to become a 'travelling keyboard' would be good to have something like that to put it in

The U is from a retro set that I am trying to get all the pieces too. I believe the company ships those sleeves internationally but I know that international shipping is expensive.
