NIB IBM Model M 1390131 Made in 1993?

Just acquired an IBM Model M 1390131 (square label I think).  But its birthday is 1993, which seems late.  It looks like the one http://www.clickykeyboards.com/index.cfm/fa/items.main/parentcat/9230/subcatid/0/id/157775, except the label on the bottom of the case is the old-school IBM label, not the dinky Lexmark label.

It is NIB.  The sticker label on the box has a serial number matching the keyboard's label.  I haven't seen its front yet as it is still taped to the foam it comes with.  Now I am not sure if I should just let it rest like that to keep it original, untouched, unmolested.

Is this rare?

well, according to wikipedia ... 1986–1988, 1993 as the production years for the 1390131 model, unless that was you who ninja-edited that in. nonetheless, NIB "silver label" is rare in itself already. how'd you get it?

I thought the drainage holes only came in later models.

According to the clickykeyboards link in my OP, there are indeed square silver label made as late as 1996.  Urg, now I have to open it to confirm.

It is square silver label!!!!  I was able to bend the foam back a little to see the label on the RIGHT side of the keyboard without breaking the tape.




This one below you can make out the letter 'I' on the label.
