whiskerbox was able to score one so I'll attempt it as well. I've got goodies to trade. Some vintage stuff and some newer stuff. Let me know what kind of stuff you are into or what exactly you'd like (price or product) and I can probably get it or come up with something better

I'm not picky on colors and will take anything.

Has anyone actually got the original CAD file or other type of file and gone to a CNC mill and asked them how much it would cost to make it?
Might end up cheaper?

You have to get it done in China. I had a local place look at the pics of one and they guesstimated $250+ with a MOQ of 50

the thing with that, is despite a few people looking for cases that may seem like a lot, there might be 5 MAYBE 10 people looking for one. People get hung up about spending twice as much on a case than the keyboard.

I have disposable income and I'm stupid about throwing money at things like this. I would definitely buy 2. Also these things seem to have strong trade/sell value.

I have a friend that works in a shop with access to a CNC machine. Can I have the CAD file to ask him for an estimate? I might be able to get a run with limited numbers. So basically this case is CNC'ed from one solid block of aluminum, then anodized to various colors afterwards, right? How much was the original price from the first group buy?

Yes that is how they were made. The cad file isn't public. But if I am able get/borrow a case, my buddy can recreate it in solid works easily.

The original price was $100 +$40 shipping I think.

Vortex cases are a lot shorter on the sides compared to imsto's. Too much of the keyboard is exposed.

I think that's what makes them look so cool & unique. If I could just have a keyboard with no sides at all I'd be all over it. Thats one of the reasons why I was pretty stoked about the mini guru tbh.
