Hey guys!

doing a TaoBao order with the girlfriend and figured it's a good time to branch into Mini KBs

Looking for a hopefully blue, would settle for brown switches. I like KBC's boards, but they all have some pretty goofy coloured backlights, and I assume i'm paying extra for that, any boards with white lights? Removable USB an asset

any recommendations? tips? links to good TB stores would be great!

thanks ripster! but I really wanted to avoid any colored LEDs

though I suppose I could just disable/remove/replace them

Most popular here seems to be the KBC poker. No backlights or any of that. I think its only like $65 on taobao. I can't comment on it don't have mine yet (its in the mail

The Poker is awesome once you start getting used to the layout and switching to arrow keys etc

The KBTalking Race is pretty small (choc mini sized) and you can get it with whichever switches you want and white LEDs, will be getting one soonish hopefully

I really didn't like the Browns on my old Poker. However, since I modded it over to be Ergo Clears, I like it much better. I also really didn't like the poker with linear switches (Reds/Blacks).

I'd love to try the Poker with blues tho.

I have the poker w/ browns. I've got the layout down in about 5 days w/ blank white PBT caps. I'm still on the fence if I like blues better, but the browns are very nice to type on and better for gaming (for me). Blacks...suck.

Another vote for the Poker: I modded mine to Ghetto Reds. Highly recommended with Cherry MX Red.

My Poker reds is my favorite. Poker blues is my second favorite. My Access IS with blacks is my third.

So what is that adding black springs? Or real greens? If just springs can you just pop the switch open or do you have to desolder? Desoldering scares me.

real greens, just going to switch out the spring and stem. no need to desolder if im not mistaken

So i've been stressing about what keycaps I want with this, and ended up doing a pretty huge impulse buy and putting in an order for the Retro Doubleshot groupbuy.

are there any other keys I should get to ~make it work~ with any odd keys the poker/pure might throw at me? they look pretty standard

What about `, Caps Lock, Spacebar, Win, App, Control, and Shift?

those are staying as is, sadly. not too confident desoldering and resoldering due to LEDs

shouldn't be a huge difference since it's a poker with blues.
