Helping the GF hunt down a Pink Mechanical...
« on: Thu, 09 February 2012, 12:12:43 »
So, the girlfriend has been interested in picking up a mechanical for some time now. My recent interest in customizing mine got her googling, which led her right back here, haha. More specifically, she found pictures that reaper posted up of a pink 'lotus' Filco he managed to pick up.

As I looked around, I found these have been discontinued for quite some time. She's still really interested in finding a pink keyboard that roughly matches her PC case:

Would anyone happen to know where we could find her a board similar enough in color to this? ANY links or info would be great, but here's a small list of other specifics we're hoping for:
- Cherry Blues
- If not a pink-colored shell, then at least a pink keycap set on a white shell
- Price range: $130, give or take about 20 bucks

As I said, these are just other perks we'd like to see. I know how hard it's gonna be to find anything matching more than one of these perks, but just thought I'd mention em :). Thanks in advance to anyone that knows where we could continue our hunt!

If you want one like mine (minus the lotus thingy) then might wanna check with Bruce over at KeyboardCo.  He might have some left.  It's a long shot but worth a try.  Good luck with your search and hope this isn't for Valentine's since it's gonna take longer to find one. =P

Only thing I could think of was this from Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Filco-Majestouch-2-Tactile-Metallic-Keyboard/dp/B005IG2L76

Brown switches though and it's a tad over the price range. Sorry man.

ha ninjaed.

Heh, it's bound to happen :P. But yeah, 2KRO wouldn't work. She is a gamer as well, so that could be an issue. Didn't think to mention it.

Haha, less than a week beforehand? Ya don't say... :P Nope, this is something she was looking to pick up for herself. Been slowly building up her tower setup over time, all by herself. Been pretty fun to see it slowly become more and more her own. Anyhow, taking a look at the prices at KeyboardCo they seem way out of our price range. Especially so if you tack on the international shipping :(.

Hey, all links and suggestions help! Really not expecting to find anything that fits the checklist perfectly. Might just need to save up a bit more if she really, really likes it :P

All great stuff though guys! Keep em coming :thumb:

Buy a plu and use the case/caps/switches/plate to build a phantom.

Pink Filco! Do it. Thats your best choice. Looks sweet. It is kind of pricey though. Are blues a must?

If you end up going the white board route, these KBC pink PBT keycaps might be of interest.
