Backspace on BlackWidow stiff when pushed from certain side
« on: Sat, 11 February 2012, 00:07:40 »
I noticed that the backspace key on my Black Widow with blues is much stiffer to push if I push it on the left side. If I push it on the right side it feels like any other key. I removed the key to see if their was some debris and I didn't see any. It's a minor annoyance because I make a lot of typos and use backspace a lot. Any help?

Clearly you haven off-center-press the "left-shift" key on your BW yet...

Weird, never happened on mine BWU and they should be the same construction. If it's really bothersome can you take it back to the store for an exchange?

Is it rubbing the key(s) around it when depressing in that area? Mine did that to the + key, and I just shaved off some of the plastic with a pocket knife (before I laughed and returned it) xD
I hate everything.

If I'm correct, the BW uses bar stabilizers instead of Cherry MX stabilizer switches. That could be why you're having issues with backspace.

I not really sure what exactly is wrong with BW's stabiliser. Other board with such(Ripster normally call it Costar style) stabiliser, especially Filco are doing perfectly well with it.

For personal experience, I got a Keycool 87 with similar type of stabiliser. To my surprise, the "Right-Shift" is very nice to press and even feel exactly the same as other stabiliserless modifier keys such as "Alt" and "Ctrl". This make me feel want to remap the "Alt", "Ctrl" and "Shift" into arrow keys(similar to that of Poker) as it will be bigger.

BTW, you will shyt bricks when you take off the spacebar and have a look at the stabiliser of spacebar.
