I've got issues...I just bought a fico tkl mx brown just for these key caps.  Red on black keys on a white fico is going to look awesome.

If there is demand for it. Base set is going to be all white, with an add on set for all of the grey modifiers in the original set. What color legends would you want on the red keys?

nope, DS. with a ton of customs legends that drove up the price. but since it was so popular sets werent THAT expensive.

i doubt it will be possible to get everything (or at least the good parts) of red alert without it being incredibly expensive tho. look at kl's dye sub GB. 30 sets was 95ish, and that was just a 90 keyset if im not mistaken. can't imagine how much it will be  with red number row unless we get 200+ orders.

Lol if you think red alert is only going to get 30 orders... I'm thinking more like 150 at a minimum. Should get into doubleshot territory, like $65-75 hopefully. Still haven't looked into it yet obviously.

I don't get the whole obsession with thick keys. I can step (using my heel) on one of these keys with all of my "impressive" 220lb mass, and nothing happens. It isn't like the sound difference is significant, nor is there any significant difference in wear qualities. We are talking about MX Red Alert, there is already a Topre GB in the works. Doubleshot doesn't work with PBT, it doesn't flow as nice I think and its more expensive.

The only reason to use PBT to begin with is because it is porous and can be sublimated. Its only a coincidence that people like the feeling of PBT and it gets used in engraved sets.

Anyways, the keys in this set will be here soon, and I've gotten several PMs of people interested in the last few 104 sets I have, so expect them to be out of stock and the market price to go up beyond what mine are selling at once the keys ship out. If you want one get it now.

Not just better, MUCH better. ABS wears fast like hell. I get an ABS spacebar to be shiny within few WEEKS, while I’ve got 30 year old used boards that have next to no wear, thanks to PBT keys.

There definitely is a difference in feel, I can tell my thick and thin Cherry keys apart just by typing on them, but I couldn’t tell you which I’d like more, so yes, this issue is highly overrated.

The wear depends on the PH balance of your sweat, rather how acidic it is. If you have really neutral sweat, then it will not wear near as fast, regardless of switch type.

We were talking about red alert being PBT which is what I had in mind for it. Everyone is perfectly happy with these as doubleshots, because while dye sub keys are nice, doubleshots are too.

Lol yeah. Here is where I get nervous on whether a lot of these orders will fit in the small flat rate box. I charged a lot of people for the small boxes when they were questionable on fitting. The extra donations I received may end up going to cover the extra costs of shipping those orders.

Why don't you just ask them to cough up the extra couple of dollars for a medium sized flat rate box.  Make the extra couple of dollars optional.  I bet a lot of people would voluntarily give you a couple bucks...the prices for this GB were  too good to say no without looking l like a cheap expletive.

I recently bought a 104 set from someone who used a small flat-rate box. It took up a little less than half the box (without trying to get them to fit properly, just thrown in a ziplock).

So I think for less 2 or less sets, a small box should be fine. If it's 3 or more you might have a tough time fitting them in a small flat-rate. But those are also 87 kits, not full 104, so a few less keys to worry about.

@Akimbo, I did that already with the sorting fee, and got more than I needed. There are a few I had already spoken with at the time of payment about it being questionable. Other than those, if there are any unexpected ones that don't fit, I will simply cover the costs myself.
