noppoo choc mini on a mac?

Hi! I am a current mac user, and I know that the noppoo choc mini does not work on a mac. However, in this video, there is a comment that says:

 

Just solved this today. Go buy a blue cube from clickyKeyboards and then use one of those cheap direct connection USB to PS/2 adaptors. You'll convert (not kidding) usb -> PS2, then the blue cube will TRANSLATE the resulting PS2 to USB the way Mac OS X likes it to be. I'm typing this with a noppoo choc mini on OS X Lion.

Is that a viable statement? As much as I would like to believe this will work, I am a hesitant to spend ~$100 based off of a YouTube comment.

Also, does anyone know if a RACE keyboard is Mac compatible?

Sounds like it should work, but I don't have any personal experience with the blue cubes.

The RACE should work fine on your Mac, but keep in mind all those extra keys don't have separate functions in OSX anyways, so it's really just a backlit Poker with a larger footprint and warped keycaps.

Hmm I was considering a Poker but I play a few games that require quick usage of function keys. I felt like it might be too slow with the Poker?
Anyways, I will reconsider the Poker because you do bring up a good point. :O

If you'd prefer to keep dedicated function keys, I'd recommend getting a TKL Leopold or Filco, unless you have a specific need or desire to have a smaller form factor than those standards.

Don't forget you can always rebind Capslock to a custom function (maybe Option + # = F#?) with the modifier key mapping tool built into OSX: that's what I plan to do when the KBT Pure finally comes out to the US.
