Which Unicomp should I buy?

I'm gonna replace the ugly Unicomp logo with the LED overlay offered on the website.
Should I go with 101 for a genuine Model M look, or compromise with a 104 for the Windows key?


Or perhaps the 104 layout would go better on the Ultra Classic?


Or why not just go with black? Afterall, the Ultra Classic wan't that "classic" in the first place anyways.


Maybe I'll just pull the trigger and go with a sleek all-black one.



Or maybe I could wait a little longer for Unicomp to come out with the REAL Spacesaver?

Can't decide.

Factors I'm taking into account:

Shipping -- would the extra weight on the Classic model affect the shipping cost with a noticable margin?
Price -- getting an all-black model would add $10 to the cost, but how does this additional cost compare with the increased shipping cost with the Classic?
Sturdiness -- is the Classic noticably more sturdy than the Ultra Classic? And how about between the 101 and 104 layouts? Afterall, the 104 on the Classic is modified from the 101, while on the other hand the Ultra is a completely redesigned structure.

is there a specific reason why you think it's dumb? or just personal preference?

i have 2 keyboards without winkey, and i must say that i miss it whenever im using them

Oh, I have another question. It seems that the LED position is closer to the top of the case, from the pictures I saw in the "All-black spacesaver" thread. Is it possible to move the LED position so that it will line up with the sticker?

I don't use the windows key, I've been using the same Unicomp 101 key since 2001.  If I try to game on a keyboard with a windows key, hitting control and alt with the top of my palm is more difficult as I have an extra key to avoid.  I think it's dumb to produce a keyboard with a left side windows key in 2012 as it's only in the way, and the functionality it provides is minimal at best.  I think that this solidifies that it's entirely personal preference.

I would go for the 104 layout, black frame, and the grey and white keycaps that come with the white unicomps. Also, on the last picture, did you photoshop backlit keys on that unicomp? lol

If you use the windows key, you should get one with a windows key.  Regarding the shipping, I can't imagine that the extra weight on the classic would make too much of a difference.. but that depends on the shipping method, I guess.  I really don't know, I'm just posting in this thread because that all black ultra looks really nice and I'm frothing at the mouth to buy one....
