I think for the color codes GE and BFU look to be the closest to me.

GE is the wrong color. It is toooo dark.

If you want to match new key caps with old ones, just put them in the sun until they look like the rest.

I will get the color samples tomorrow and try to find the closest match. Also, I've asked Melissa if they keep records of which colors had been used.

update:

Sorry I don't have any specific color information for you!

GBA for spacebar, BBI for legends, and for dark grey I'm going to throw a vote towards GSY.

I thought we were going with these colors?

Denonic's most recent one is the new go for. 7bit, it would be much appreciated if you could take a look.

I did only read half way through. Sorry.

However, I'm quite sure not all colors will match. I'll take a look into this tomorrow.

Just for the record, you guys have until the 22nd to pay. If you do not pay by then, your order will be dropped. Sorry for the long timetable, but I'm outta town from the 15th to the 22nd, and probably won't have too much access to computers.

So these colors should be the new go to colors yes?  Could probably start doing whole WYSE replicas with these if they turn out right.

My WYSE keycaps look nothing like those colors. That WYSE pictured by 7Bit is much rarer version.

I have WYSE PCE 840358-01 and lettering is so dark blue its nearly black. And keys are dark grey (GTD) and almost tan not even close to GSX color above.

Its not fading either....

If those are the colors you're going with, I want my money back. This should have been decided BEFORE having people pay.....

Is it really that different?  The model I have is the one pictured here http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wyse-PCE-Keyboard-Wyse-901865-Wyse-840358-01-Wyse-901866-Wyse-841038-Wyse-900233-/350556978002?pt=COMP_EN_Workstations&hash=item519ed2fb52

It looks damn close to the one you've got apart from the black strip up top instead of grey and my keys look like this:

Now take into account real world lighting differences and the fact that different cameras capture colors slightly different and different monitors display colors slightly different and I think there isn't much in it between my image and 7bits.

Also, in my room lighting the dark grey looks tan and the blue legends look almost black like you described.  Shining a bright white LED over it, (or doing a proper white balance) gets it to look like my image above.  My previous color estimates were from images posted by others and some fiddling in Photoshop.  There was no guarantee that they would have matched.  7bits require no fiddling in photoshop and look pretty much as close as any of the other images.

You need a color sample ring to see if these colors mtch or not. If your key caps are yellowed, you need to compare them at the underside.

To match new keys with old yellowed ones, you should sunbath them until they match!

7Bit's seem to match almost perfectly. Shawn, I think yours would probably look the same under identical lighting and maybe with some retrobriting, but if you really want to cancel your order, shoot me a PM.

I'd need someone to take on an extra addon kit or two to be able to drop the other orders successfully. Except if I drop all the base kits from those orders, we're below 75 (73). So if people want to take a couple extra so I can scrap those orders, PM me. I think I need 2 base kits and 1 addon kit. More wouldn't hurt though.

The keycaps on WYSE 840358-1 are light beige. The legends look black, but are dark navy.Same for 840338-01.

On 840358-13, the keycaps are light grey. The legends look closer to blue, lighter than those on 840358-1.

Most of them are made in Taiwan, but some in China.

Does anyone have an extra base kit coming in? I've got a guy who's interested, but since I couldn't really order any extras, if he could pay one of you guys for one, and then I just ship it to him, that would probably work out well for all parties involved. PM me and I'll point you in the right direction. Also, don't be a **** about it. Sell it at cost. He's a nice guy who wants in on a nifty little buy that probably won't be run again. After they come in and they're yours, you can inflate them on the classifieds for all the chumps who totally missed it.

Guess what just arrived at my house? A giant box of keycaps! The dark keys match my WYSE set perfectly, and the light ones are a tad too light compared to mine, but mine could use a little retrobriting. I'll get them out ASAP, though it may be a bit. I'm in my last week of school, and then I'll get them on their way.

I didn't order any extra, but I know a lot of members probably have an extra set or two. Shoot a PM to sth and see if he wants to unload another, and I'll invoice it up. Also, I'll take pics tomorrow in natural light, because warm house lighting ruins colors and I'm terrible at taking pictures.
Risen from the dead for a model F.

Wyse buy colors were GSY for the dark grey, GBA for the light grey, and BBI for the fonts.

I took a quick picture since I had some time. The flash on my phone overblows the color difference, though you can tell my caps are yellowed. It's the reproduction enter and |\ surrounded by a shift and a backspace pulled off a WYSE board.
