Help me find the right keyboard
« on: Wed, 29 February 2012, 23:58:44 »
Hey, so I'm looking for suggestions for my next keyboard. I'm looking for a full size brown switch board. I'm probably going to end up using blank or engraved keys so I want a board that doesn't have writing/branding on the face(the caps/scroll next to the leds on my filco tkl kinda bother me) Something minimal looking like the ducky 9008 is ideal but I'd like costar stabilizers. Any suggestions on what board I might like? or what board that might be available in the coming months I should look forward to? Thanks in advance!

If you want Costar stabilizers you are basically limited to WASD/Filco/Das/CoolerMaster QuickFire, and they all have branding [especially the CM]. Your best bet for the money is probably a WASD or a Das Keyboard if you don't mind the fingerprint-magnet shiny finish on the Das, otherwise get a Filco.

I just recently got a Leopold so I'm kinda on that boat right now. You might want to look at this one. There's an "Otaku" version with blank keycaps but they're out of stock right now. The only branding is in the upper-right of the keyboard. None of the keys have any branding on them.

I got the TKL version and I'm loving it, but I haven't had a lot of mechanical keyboards so I may not know exactly what I'm talking about (although I did use a Model M for about 10 years before someone dropped a dumbbell on it. Long story.)
