It seems CM started to sell the quickfire in Europe.
Black switches only.
To see how it goes they say.
In the US they started with blues (to see how it goes they said).

Now the questions:

1. Do you think CM's marketing dept believes that is politically incorrect to offer blacks in the US?
2. Do you think CM's marketing dept believes that McDonald's makes your fingers lighter/ more sensitive?
3. Do you think that some people within CM's marketing dept believe that Europe is the moon of Jupiter?

What do you think?

I don't like blacks by the way (the switches). Also I think I'm going to stop whining just buy something else.
Oh... and I live somewhere in Europe. :)

All switch variants(Red, Blue, Black and Brown) are available at the same time in Asia(and Australia? not sure), problem?

Yes. There's a problem because many Europeans want to buy Cooler Master keyboards (Not me) with Red Switches and they can't which is just stupid.

In South Africa I had the choice of blues or blacks, tbh would have probably gone brown.

It sorta makes me think of how kellogs markets their cereals, e.g. you could get fruit loops in South Africa 10~ years ago but now you can not. They are seeing a vast majority of black boards bought in the EU (due in part to SteelSeries and TTesports) with blues in the US due to what must be razer fan boyism let alone sc2 pro influences on both markets. Just a theory...

I think the mechanical ventures don't really work the same avenues that fancy macro keys and backlighting or LCD displays have on their current market. So expecting people to switch over without using an already working model is hard. I do think that it's short sighted not to take in the views of geekhack as a community and I think steelseries did a good job letting overclock's mouse gurus give feedback on the new mice they released.

Human: Is warranty a problem while ordering overseas? Oh yes. I'd rather pay a fraction more where I live instead of cursing a dead board.

guilleguillaume: Isn't that a crazy situation? Beg them for letting me buy their stuff. Is that cool or what!? :)

stingrae: You're probably right. Their marketing is probably a bunch of shy girlies. If they have a great product (and it seems they have, because of Costar) where is that disruptive thinking (Apple style)? Girlies.

Maybe popularity?  It seems that blue switches are more common with name brands in the US, and black switches in Europe (at least at one point in time).  Basically, it's the safe route, so like gigibecali said: Girlies.

Some CMrep already explained/complained that it was hard to get retailers to stock and properly differentiate different switch types.  Also claimed that they wanted to test the waters of the various markets by only offering the regionally 'favorite' switch type at first to see if their particular branding/styling would sell well.

They are just being careful to not overextend themselves and have to either shuffle product around the globe or sit on stale inventory.

The market in Sweden is saturated with several full-sized boards that have black switches. The cheapest mechanical boards have black switches.
If they want to differentiate themselves here, I think that they should go with another switch and/or be significantly cheaper than the competition.
People are no longer as interested in the black switches, there are lots of people who think that a smaller board should be cheaper than a full-sized board and there are more and more hardcore gamers that are asking for keyboards that look "clean", without bells and whistles.

QPAD sells all kind of switches in Sweden (and that part of EU).

Of course their keyboards are uber-ugly and made by iOne...

(If they're to be trusted,) they're bragging that they have stormed that area (including Germany and UK) though.
Ofc Cooler Master cannot see that. They watch cartoons.
Because they are girlies.
