My new Filco Camo keys look like laffindude's keys and not ripsters.

SO apart from the "rare" mistake when manufacturing, whats the conclusion?
The new FILCO is PAD-PRINTED or LASERED?

I got my Filco Multicam much later than the others. Probably, the newer Multicam came lasered.
Let's wait till the newer Filco with red switches is released to see if Filco did indeed changed from pad-printing to lasered.

^Flip your board over and look at the serial. It should tell you year and month when it is made. Mine is made in August last year.

This video does show a keyboard with blank keys being pad printed. Make of it what you will.

Yeah, because that's IS how it's normally done.

Hence, why isn't the phenomena in the original image possible?

I find starting your sentence with HENCE rather pretentious.

I find your observation rather pretentious but whoop-de-do.

Nope, the pad is probably not flexible enough to print the lettering so well and disregard the height difference.
Even if it can, the flexing/compression/depression of the pad would have cause deformation/smudging.

So technical there's more chance that it's a photoshop that real.
