Which Keyboard company for Cherry mx Red?
« on: Sat, 24 March 2012, 18:49:48 »
Appreciate any feedback I went with the Leopold mx cherry red but noticing some wear on the keys "fading of the paint" just after a week. Any other good boards out there? Maybe I should have just gone otaku.

It would be useful to know which keyboard you have that the wearing is occurring on. I don't know why you would want to get a new board when you could just get new keycaps that will be better regardless.
edit:he didn't have which board he had when I first replied. Or I'm bad at reading.

+1 if you want to try a compact layout, any of the KBC/KBT mini keyboards feel great in Red.

WASD printing doesn't fade.
Laser grave is curving the letter on the plastic.
Laser etch burn the plastic and leaves black lettering.
In other word, a black key cap only have black printing.

If you want black key cap with white (or other color) print, you need dye sub or pad printing. (edit: or double shot)

The black on black looks pretty decent I mean to just use it for gaming instead of regular typing anyway. Thank you for this information otherwise I will have to pick up the otaku. WASD says they are out of black caps till April so I guess I gotta wait.
