Question about the CM Quickfire
« on: Sun, 01 April 2012, 09:48:32 »
Hi guys, new to the forum here. I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple questions I have about my Quickfire.

I really loved my Model M13, buckling spring is still my favorite switch type really, but I needed Window's keys. Only while this keyboard has the regular windows key it doesn't have the context menu key and it really bugs me. It does have a function button, FN, where the context key would normally go. Is there anyway to make the key function as the context menu key?

Also, while I love this deck it CM decided to go really heavy with the branding and that bugs the hell out of me. I need a new spacebar, as the one it came with has QUICKFIRE printed on it and I also want to buy new window's key keycaps as they have their little logo on it. Where is the best place to buy those for this keyboard, which uses blue cherry switches?

Thanks in advance.

You could get a spacebar and windows keys from WASD.

I'll bet you feel really good about yourself, making posts like that.

Anyway, thanks Metafour!

You are right. I haven't. What's your point? Am I not entitled to my opinion because I haven't been posting 15 posts a day? Alrighty.

No, its because you havent realized yet that Ripster is pretty useless  and is basically a post count ***** now ...
He seem to have gone braindead a few months ago.

I appreciate that you have your opinion on the matter.
My opinion is however that ripster has posted a lot of information and a lot of funny posts. Whatever he was like before I came here or whatever he has done to piss some of you off isn't really my problem.
I enjoy these forums despite the obvious butthurt of some people.
No need to try to make my opinion not matter just because it doesn't agree with yours.

Actually we are just butthurt at seeing stupid replies such as ripster's.
I'm new here too, didnt quite understand, but I guess its because he must of had some kind of trauma or something.

Nice to see someone admit to being butthurt over posts on a forum. I rest my case.

Back to the topic...

In answer to question 1, no there's no way to get it to send the windows context menu code, as it actually doesn't notify the OS of a keypress. Rather, it only changes what code other keys send. I get around it by hitting shift+f10, which is pretty much the same thing.

Glad to see there's somebody else out there who actually uses that key besides myself!

Thanks for staying on point in this thread.  I was actually wondering about this myself, but wanted to let all the insults and childish comments spew out before saying anything, lol.
