Taobaobee offering 0% commission
« on: Tue, 10 April 2012, 09:07:16 »
I just got an email from Taobaobee saying that they've temporarily reduced their commission fees to 0%.
I don't really have any more details other than apparently they are doing it to clear out their warehouse and that they are going to stop it at some unspecified point in the future when their warehouse has emptied a bit.

Same here. The problem is by the time you have got your item in the warehouse it will probly be back up to 9% again.

I don't get it.  I thought a Taobaobee agent would order things on your behalf and forward them to you.  The only goods they would have in their warehouse are those which somebody has already purchased and are just waiting for forwarding.  Why would they need to 'clear space' and how would inviting new orders do that anyway?

You can purchace multiple products over a set amount of time. Get them shipped at once to save on shipping costs. I guess to many people are doing this.

Still doesn't make any sense though; how would inviting new orders help them to clear space in their warehouse?  It is full up with other people's goods, and placing your order doesn't get those other goods out of there any faster.

They are not inviting new orders.  The 0% fee is if you submit your shipping request on items you have ordered and they have procured for you and are now waiting for you to submit the shipping request and pay their fee.  It looks as though they are getting a lot of people who place orders and once they have procured the item and it's waiting for you to submit the shipping request and pay the fee that they are either forgetting to go back and submit the request or are deciding that they can't or don't want to pay another fee to get their order shipped, since they have already paid once for the item.  Taobao is saying, "If you clear your junk out of our warehouse we won't charge you our normal extra fee for a limited time."  You still have to pay for the International shipping fee, though.  I just went through the process with two orders.  My "Angry Birds" PBT dye-sub keycaps have already shipped. ;-)

Had successfully ordered a wyse keyboard from them before.  Had an order of two blue switch keyboards and an SSK status "arrived" at their warehouse.  Had them arrange to ship to me and I received a box a little too small.... Sceptically I opened it to find a Lacoste shirt and some Adidas sneakers....  Invoice says the right things but items are completely wrong.  Went to their site to make a complaint but their site now has an error and I can't even get to the home page.  I'll give it a few hours for it to go back up then I'm opening a paypal dispute.  Not really happy right now....

Can you get onto their website at all?  I'm starting to think the whole 0% commission thing might have been to get as much money into their account before they just shut up shop and took off.

No, it seems broken. I will leave it 24hrs before I worry. I wouldn't see why they would just take off, they had a goodish business that had been around for a while.

Their sister site http://www.wantrr.com/ is still running.  Not sure if we could go through that for any assistance though.

[h=2]Non-receipt dispute - #PP-001-760-126-974[/h]

[h=3]Status[/h]This dispute closed because it was opened for more than 45 days after the transaction date or did not meet other filing criteria.

I just entered a dispute with PayPal today and got that message when I checked the status.  Should I call PayPal or am I SOL?

[edit] Well, I tried calling PayPal and I couldn't even get past the automated system if it couldn't find the transaction with the last 45 days.  Of course, I've been waiting for my order to be available since February 25th.

Your only hope is getting  something from paypal back, because you won't get anything from taobaobee back it seems.

I put an order in for a KBT Pure Limited Edition back on February 25.  They said I could pre-order and wait for it to be available.  So, it has been longer than 45 days.
