All of my posts are gone and or getting deleted for no reason/warning when i have broke no rules. My classified post and a bunch of other older posts of mine are completely gone. Is it because of all these recent forum issues?

Looks like the forum got rolled back to an earlier date... Probably had to do with the issues-- some things are gone, others aren't

Seem to have lost a day or so of posts :-(

I replied to the Programming thread earlier, and there was at least one other reply since mkawa's post at 14 Apr 2012, 06:24 (BST).

I think his username is "obra", he's in Taiwan right now, he got to demo an aluminum case pure with mx blues, and they gave him a plastic case with mx reds.  I asked if he would be willing to trace the pcb and screw holes for treble and imsto, and he said he would be glad to when he gets home in a week or so.

ffs we ALL know your posts are gone and it definitely sucks but you don't have to post about it in every post you make, it doesn't make it come back, so just drop it and move on

That's easy for you to say, with your posts not having been deleted by a non-mod who shouldn't have such powers!

I really don't know why you thought you had to make that post.

really!?  given all the whining and *****ing that kl did when ripster nuked his account, i think i've been pretty well natured about the whole thing, considering it was done intentionally and without cause and under a completely false assumption.

i've made it quite clear that all i'm looking for is a yes/no as to whether or not it's going to be resolved.  i don't care when, i appreciate that there's much more significant work being done right now.  that being said, if it's not, i've got some posts/threads that i want to sit down and re-do.

well, i recall a lot of back and forth... i've posted 3 posts (maybe 4)... hardly the nagging that tsangan is suggesting.  *****ing/whining wasn't quite accurate, but it was very well known when it happened the first time.  it feels very 'swept under the rug' this time around.

IIRC /kl *****ed about it a few times also

So because you feel that its "swept under the rug" you have to make it known? What did you want to accomplish out of this? You want everyone to pity you and hate on ripster?

I'm not saying your posts aren't important or anything, I'm sure the ones besides you arguing with people were quite informative, but sadly whats done is done and it's non-reversible now, so why not start off with a clean slate.

i'm 'patiently' waiting for a reply from iMav, but no, again, i disagree.  it's not done, and it should be reversible.  i've opened a thread in  forum feedback, and replied in relevant threads ONLY.  i don't see the issue here?  it's not like i'm spamming keyboard or classified forums.

what did i want to accomplish?  some visibility, because no, i'm not over it.  and you know what, i don't think there's a damn thing wrong with that.  how pissed off would you be if your 3k posts went bye-bye because someone misunderstood something you posted.  he wouldn't have nuked my account if that misunderstanding never occurred, but it wasn't an accident like it was with /kl.  ripster never responded to my reply after 'apologizing', so on that front, that's not over either.  i think i've been quite level headed with this whole situation.

iMav is clearly occupied with much more important things, and that's fine.  i'll be happy to move on (either way) once i get a response.  i'm not looking for it to be fixed today/tomorrow, i just want to know what's going on.  i don't think that's unfair.

Well of course I didn't take into account if you had any GBs running or any important PMs that required your attention, If it happened to me it would be annoying of course for the fact that many of my GBs are running and lots of information is stored in PMs, but if I had no GB and no important PMs then I'm not quite sure where you're coming from. I guess you value your posts a lot more then I do, which is fine.

Yeah it's great you posted a thread for iMav, I'm not sure if you have PM'ed him already but I would think that would be the better way to go about with this. As for you posting it in other places, for example in this current thread the OP is asking what happened to his posts since the rollback happened but of course you had to state that all your posts are still gone as if the OP really cares.

I don't know what is going on between you and ripster, all I see you two do is argue. Of course ripster is in the wrong here, I understand that much. I don't know if he apologized to you or what conversations you guys had, but in the end I just feel that a PM to iMav would suffice or even the thread you made in the feedback/suggestions forum. I don't see a point in trying to make every user know what you have been through.

while i don't value all 1,000+ posts i made, some were important and were of value to me.  while i'm not running any group buys, i'm participating in a number of them, and my input in those is now lost (short of the disconnected replies).  it won't be the end of the world if they aren't restored, i can recreate what was important to me.  fortunately I receive PM notifications, so none of them are lost (they can't be restored anyhow).

i get what you're saying, and short of this thread, i don't intend to go on spouting off in other people's threads about my lost posts.  i have been trying to reach iMav via email, which is the only way i've ever communicated with him.  i don't want to pester him, and feel that a third method of reaching him would be excessive.  that being said, i hardly think the posts i've made come even a stones throw close to  me trying to get every user to know what's happened.  there's plenty i could disclose (private PM that have been forwarded, etc), and i'm choosing not too.  that's why i'm not starting 10+ threads in a sub-forum about it.

I was really liking the new avatar KL (I'm a major BTTF fan) until I stumbled upon this thread and read this? Ok Ripster was in the wrong, I get it. Can we all just move on? These images are almost like personal attacks and are on the boarder of being just straight creepy.

Regarding the weekend posts, I know there was quite a bit of site maintenance that went on so perhaps this was a result of that.

Edit: Here's some food for thought KL (stalker - 2.A person who harasses or persecutes someone with unwanted and obsessive attention.)

I was reading a bit more on the weekend site maintenance and it does sound like a database rollback had to be performed which caused some lost posts.

Quote from: ashort;576631
There were unforeseen issues and at least one database rollback was necessary to get things back online as quickly as possible.

You have to admit the site is running much smoother and the vBulletin search is working better *as good as the integrated search gets ; )

LOL. This is a forum.

Maybe you haven't noticed that I made one of the few on-topic posts at the start of this thread, before you weighed in noisily with your off-topic opinions. That's all the justification I need.

Look, if you want to try and intimidate harrison without the chance of anyone else butting in, take it to PM. But I wouldn't be surprised if he simply reported you.

Here's some food for thought: it's posts like yours that have made the site such that we need moderators. Why's everyone such a crybaby lately?

This is NOT a mod issue. This is a server issue. There was a post about it on the GH Facebook page if you're interested. I suppose Mav will be trying to sort a BU out best he can, but it's something we may to all deal with. I don't understand why post count matters at all.

There is most definitely no need for everyone to get all *****y and upset about it. So please stop such antics.

I guess I'm not seeing the humor in it then. It looks more like an intended insult then a joke. You're trying to say if people visit his subforum they will get erased correct? Doesn't that seem spiteful even at the least? I guess we do need moderators then, because you obviously don't see it.

Put the past where it belongs and move on.

I was never speaking to Harrison as a mod but merely as just another member of the community. His posts are gone because of another reason and not the server issue.

My thoughts are the same as yours as I didn't quite understand why Harrison kept bringing it up, was it to seek attention? Or was there other reasons? Mind you he did have a slightly better reason to ***** then the rest of the people that lost posts during the rollback.

Well all your *****ing about harrison has certainly brought attention. To coin your Glenn-Beck-ism: Are there other reasons why you're doing this? I think he's been remarkably restrained, given the circumstances, and I really don't understand why he's being given stick for mourning the loss of his posts. And only a few times - some members here would be harping incessantly on for months.
