Hi all,
I am in the quest to find my first mechanical keyboard and leave the horde of membranes behind....
Ok, anyways I have been researching online and here for about a week. I have always been using membrane keyboards for the longest I can remember, have had some nice Logitech's in the past but eventually something happened to them. Got to the point where I would just buy the cheap $10 standard keyboard until it failed on me and I would get another one. Finally realized how much money I was throwing away and decided that I wanted to get a quality keyboard that would last awhile. At this moment I am using a keyboard I had stashed away ( Steelseries Merc ), typing on it is horrid.
So, enough of the jabber, I have been trying to keep my eye on a board that will allow me to type and play games as well ( mainly WoW, SC2, and D3 when it comes out ). I have come down to realize that Blue's are out ( tried the Razer BW at BB and did not feel right ), other than that there is no other place around here where I can test out other switches. I have read that the medium is Brown, but people have their opinion's I see, some prefer Black. How is Red's for a medium?
I am willing to spend around $150 on a good board and have looked at and then passed on Razer BW, K60, K90, and some others I cannot remember right now. I had been looking at the Zowie Celeritas, but have heard bad things about the spacebar. I have looked at the Rosewill 9000 line, but have read about the USB connection issue. I have looked at the CM Storm, but it is missing the numpad, also looked at the CM Storm Pro, but it is not in stock anywhere. I cannot find a place that sells Filco's.
I am also a little worried about ordering from a place other than Amazon or Newegg as I do not know their reputation. I know I am limiting myself. I also looked into WASD and Leopold, but for what you get vs something like the Zowie it kinds seems lackluster.
So, this is where I end, I cannot decide which board to get. Please recommend something to me. LOL.
Sorry for all the rambling.
