Since I bought it less than a month ago, it has been sitting on my desk with the cover on whenever I wasn't around.
No real shine yet, but that doesn't mean the keyboard is brand new. If you look at the keyboard from certain angles, the letters a,s, d have very minimal wear on them; but that's taking to consideration these are standard factory ABS keycaps.
