Deck Legend vs Ducky Shine

GEEKHACKERS ASSEMBLE!!

Hey guys,

So I am currently looking at the 2 above-mentioned keyboards because I am looking for an illuminated keyboard. I've heard good things about both and so I am torn. I like the Deck Legend for its sturdiness however, the "light leakage" is a little off-turning. Other than that, any opinions/recommendations would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance and Marvel movie marathon May 3rd.

Deck Legend vs Ducky Shine

I own two Ducky Shines now (both white LED's), and I'm very happy with them.  I have one at home and one at work.  I get all kinds of compliments on the backlighting and feel of the keyboard.  I thought long and hard about the Deck keyboards, but the font on the keycaps is a little off putting for me.  Second, I settled on Cherry Blues which are great for me.  Nice tactile feel but not nearly as loud as a buckling spring (I purchased a Unicomp for my Dad).  The backlighting is extremely bright on this keyboard!  I usually keep it on level 2 out of 5 and it's plenty for me.  My well lit work office, I keep it on level 3.  Maximum brightness is very bright, but that might be a plus for some with poor vision.  The lowest setting is very unobtrusive and works well for night time gaming.  Ducky Shines are coming in more colors too.  They just added purple, green, and yellow backlit version with more on the way.

While I can't compare it to other mechanical keyboards, the Ducky seems very well built.  It's very heavy, doesn't slide around, and I like the 104+4 key layout that gives me direct access to the calculator which I use often.  No other mechanical seems to have this.  My only complaint with the Ducky Shine is that the backlight doesn't remember it's setting when you put your computer into sleep or turn it off.  You have to reset the backlight each time.  A minor annoyance, but I thought I'd point that out.

Lastly, WASD keyboards is supposed to offering a backlit by the end of the year.  You might want to see what they have to offer, but they have said it will not be customizable.
