Vinyl Wrapped CM Storm QF Rapid MX Blues LOWERED PRICE
« on: Wed, 25 April 2012, 04:37:08 »
Selling a used CM Storm Quickfire Rapid that I've had for roughly 2 weeks or so. Bought it off a fellow GH to try out the blue switches, and I didn't decide on whether I like the switches till just now. During the time I've had it, I applied the 3M Scotchprint Matte Dark Gray vinyl on the faceplate. I originally purchased this board from a forum member, and was 100% satisfied with the condition.

The wrap isn't professionally done, but I carefully applied it using a hairdryer, and spent around an hour or two for the whole process. I am eyeball pricing it for the cost of the vinyl + time spent. If you switch out the keycaps, I think it'll be a beautiful board. You can see that it was applied when you look at it from the bottom-side up, but from the top, it looks gorgeous. Most definitely going to do the same thing on the next board I get.

Priced: $85 shipped CONUS with verified Paypal address. Will send using USPS Priority Mail.

photos of the bottom:

Note, these were taken with directed LED light just to emphasize the contrasting differences where the vinyl wraps near the bottom. Obviously, there are flaws, but you don't notice them from the top. Also I was stupid and took off the center sticker because I thought that's where the screw was.

Wow some GH'ers are cheap & obnoxious.  Lets do some math.  Keyboard = $64, Vinyl costs $10.  $64+$10=$74.  $90-$74=$16.  All he is asking is $16 for the excellent job he did applying the vinyl, which I'm sure many GH'ers would be skeptical about doing (or maybe don't have the time to do...).  If you don't like his price then keep looking; I don't understand why some people enjoy making other's lives more difficult...

- - sorry if the price seems too high. I bought the keyboard used for 65, paid for vinyl shipped 20, and now im selling it for 85 + shipping fees, which would probably go over 90. I don't think I'm making much out in profit, so I find it reasonable.

Thanks for looking ^^

A completely reasonable price, considering the quality vinyl job. I can imagine this'll go, considering how many members talk about how they want a Quickfire without the branding.
Risen from the dead for a model F.

Wyse buy colors were GSY for the dark grey, GBA for the light grey, and BBI for the fonts.

If you aren't interested in buying it, don't thread crap and be on your way.

GLWS, nice job on the vinyl.

I was staring at your pics for a good 10-15 minutes trying to find the flaws in the vinyl, and either you took some good "facebook angle" pictures, or you did an amazing job, would you mind pointing out where you think you could have covered it with vinyl better aka the flaws or where the cuts were made??

Vinyl is extremely easy to do... the cuts should just be on the bottom side of the case if you got the right size (and the bottom of the top side where the keys are)... If you look in the front left corner there are ripples, top left corner there's a section that was cut too short, and there looks to be one ripple in the top right... Vinyl is REALLY easy if you have a hair dryer and an exacto knife and a piece that's the right size

ill take more pictures tonight and upload on to the page. If you look at the corners from the bottom side up, you'll see that the vinyl isn't so smooth as other parts, and that some parts, I cut a little too close at some parts like you mentioned.
