cherry g80-8113 (or any board with clear switches)
« on: Wed, 25 April 2012, 19:30:31 »
Seems that they only have brown switched ones on ebay now. budget: $50shipped

Plan: I have brown springs coming soon to mod this keyboard to ergo clears. I wanna practice soldering/switching with this board before I do the mod on a platemounted one. I plan on using this for a couple months to see if ergo clear are definitely right for me before I go modding a platemounted board. Can anyone suggest the most economic way to go about this? (I was hoping for the keyboard to have doubleshot keys so I can sell those and help pay for itself when I part the board for springs/stems.

Really? You mean I got the last one with clear switches from ResourcePOS? I offered $50 and they accepted.

yup. TT when I asked, they said that they had it but when I was about to purchase today, they said they ran out. They'd also accept $40 too but $50 isn't too bad.

Wow. I guess I got lucky, then. I offered and paid before I even told them I wanted one with clear switches. I just assumed they had lots of them. I received it today.

Sorry to snag the last one... I had no idea. I was just frustrated not to be able to find any clear stems here, so I had to buy it on eBay.

Hope you find what you need!

Check with Biniaris.  He's been a good source of clears in the past.

Oh you actually want the keyboard?  Dunno what he has but I've always just gotten springs and stems.

still looking; spending anything more than $50 would be too much for me since i just plan on using it for a couple months(trying clears & ergo clears on it) before taking it apart for parts.

Thanks.
is that a good price? I was hoping for double shot keys so when I'm done with the board, I could take the stems and sell the keycaps.

Price seems decent. Doubleshots are getting harder to find. I still need to finish my set from the 8113 I got.
