NICE!

How about an option to install a female usb mini-b so cables can be changed at will?  :-)  Dunno if that would require any changes to the CNC or mods to the PCB, but that's the one huge problem I have with Filcos.

Can you send me your CNC file, please?

Already thought about it but there isn't enough room for it + you must trim your cable.

Well, I'm sure there's a hack just waiting to be developed here.  At the very least, you could put a FEMALE terminator on a very short lead dangling out of the case.  :-)

How about those CNC files?... or are you doing this for profit and don't want to share your good work?

I have a nice store of beautiful pecan wood getting ready for some kind of project.  I think it would be perfect for this, and not having to reinvent the wheel (case) could mean I might actually do it some day.

Sorry captain, it took 2 months work after my regular work and a lot of weekends. The prototypes were also not free... and i need 1 Filco MJ2 TKL as model for completing the rest of the cases. I think a profit for this is really ok....

So no i don't share my CAD-drawing or any CNC files.

With Kaen and me this would make three of us interested( If I remember this right as the old thread disappeared).

Gothic860 the work you're showing us in the close up pictures is amazing. Perfect attention to the detail.

If Kean is willing to pay the +110€ then yes. My vendor only has 1 plank in stock which should be enough for 4 keyboard cases.

Yes it worked very well (after 12 top cases :/). I hope it won't differ too much from wood to wood.

Bummer.  I had hoped for more collaboration at geekhack; Guess I'll have to reinvent your wheel.

Good luck with the business!  It really is a beautiful board.  :-)

Added Teak, no minimum orders required. Nice brown color

The one edge is wet, so it should look something like this after lacquering.

So, since the phantom is supposed to fit in a filco TKL case, my phantom board should fit in one of these, right?  I know you don't have the answer to that, I'm just throwing it out as an idea.  It is really beautiful work!  Possibly interested.  I will review the woods and decide.
Keyboards:
Filco 104 MX Brown (Otaku) - FKBN104M/NPEK 黒い空
Ducky TKL MX Brown/Blue 80% (White) - 1087-F 白の空
KBC Poker MX Red with PBT Key Caps - PFCN6000

Yeah that's what I was planning on doing ..

Gothic, what would the grade of the ebony be? (complete knot free / normal / "wild")

Also, do you know the ebony's species? <--- No intention of incurring any CITES inquiries or anything!  Just curious.

If you do more of these, or if its not too late to make revisions, you should see if you can shape the usb hole to fit a female mini-b usb thing, so you could use any detachable usb cable.

Hey, I have a PATENT on Lego Keyboard Pics!

Not here in Germany!

Fot the "Special Woods" its maybe a little problem since i only get 1 plank and just can cut it about every 500mm. When you use one of the normal woods i can search for the right one, but most of the wood is "normal" so i don't think we get a problem here. Price is the same on all woods.

Maybe a good question... but i really don't know. In germany its no problem, but i don't know about USA or any other country. Maybe also a problem with customs?

For a little fee thats no problem, but can I simply solder a female mini USB on the Filco USB-cable and thats it? The little milling isn't the problem.

EDIT: Ordered one:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B004XAU0S0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

Will test it and tell you.

This is so cool, but I don't have a Filco, or all that money. Regardless, good luck with sales!
Risen from the dead for a model F.

Wyse buy colors were GSY for the dark grey, GBA for the light grey, and BBI for the fonts.

Update for Mini-USB:

Its working! So yes, i can offer you a female mini USB connector (+10€ incl. cable (female mini USB -> mini USB)), but you still have to solder your cable. I will make a milling for it and glue it inside.

+ you can now also get brushed wood (+15€) (not possible with every wood, but i can make models if necessary).

What happened with the pictures. I can't believe that I missed this. Even if it isn't going to be made, I would like to see prototypes for getting inspiration for my, or others' projects. Please, get the pics back up!

I would probably take my toys away after being attacked like that, too. They call that board 'Marketplace', yet profit is wrong. And I though the popularity of the hammer-and-sickle keycaps was an unimportant anomaly...
That must have hurt, having spent so much time on this work...

Good luck with any further work, Gothic860! These pictures were pretty amazing, do consider putting them back up, please :)

Thanks for the link, 002.

Attacked?  That wasn't even a yellow card.

Marketplace - a place where people exchange items in a proportion to labour/ effort to produce.

If your looking to proportion blame onto to a few people who, quite politely by forum standards.  Pointed out that maybe the mark-up was a little over the top.  Then you need a little self reflection on this one.
Thinking about things isn't the same as doing things. Otherwise everybody would be in jail.
