Well...I was assuming it would be more than what he offers for his click clacks. Seeing as how he wants $1k for a click clack, a BNIB Model F A/T should be upwards of $2k amirite?
$2000 for keyboard?, you do need a cold bath bro, really cold bath..., the Model F AT that your looking not long a go got sold on ebay for around $250. Yes it was used but in an excellent condition. IBM keyboards are proven to be very high quality to a point that you clean it up and it looks brand new.... or if its lacking in any other mechanical way, you can bolt mod it, or while at it replace all bolts for $1.00 per 10 original IBM bolts.
Dont fall for the hype men, cause reallity is these collectors bought the same board few years a go for barelly $100 and now want for it as you say $2000, by all means buy it if you have a heavy wallet, why not, but then dont get stressed out when you see few months down the road the same board gets sold on ebay for 300-400 BNIB..... An who guarantees you that Ripster hasnt used the board? I doubt that paying extra $1600 for an IBM box and styrofoam is worth it.
Patience is a virtue, here is why: I always longed to have NIB White label, but they are rare, even clicky keyboards sold only 2-3 NIB from those. They usually end up on ebay for around $300+ and they all were missing cords....
Well guess what> patience is a virtue I just bought 2 NIB White logos for $270 shipped, one box is open for purpose of taking picture and the other is still sealed!!! they both got cords in its plastic wrap sealed....
I do regret not buying an SSK NIB for $250, they were both with the white label + 2 cords in plastic wrap, one short and one long cord. Reason why I didnt bought it, its because was spanish/UK layout with the big enter key..... when I think of it now, I should of snatched 1....oh well patience is a virtue, and if you dont have patience go for it and spend $2000 on a keyboard if it puts smile on your face :-)
