[WTT/WTB] Clacks for trade.
« on: Sun, 13 May 2012, 22:00:07 »
### For Trade ###

* MX CC white skull
* MX CC red skull

Looking to trade for Topre Clacks only. Would prefer dark grey to match my HHKB.

### Looking to Buy ###

* Original HHKB Pro, as it doesn't have an integrated USB hub like the Pro 2. Either color is fine. Also don't care whether the keys are printed or not.

So you want an original HHKB? your title says not pro2

The original doesn't have usb ports and is rubber dome and the lite/lite2 has usb ports, but is also rubber dome.

I guess you might want to clarify exactly what you are looking for.

The HHKB Pro was produced prior to the Pro 2 and is also Topre-based. It's basically the same as the Pro 2 but doesn't have the built-in USB hub. It is not the same thing as the Lite or original HHKB.

No one has an older HHKB Pro they want to sell? You could use the money to put towards the Pro 2!  ;)

The HHKB Pro 1 was and still is really popular and if you were lucky last year you could "somewhat" readily find one for sub-$200 and the year before that sub-$150. Another neato feature is that some of the Pro 1's have slightly thicker and slightly heavier keycaps too! I doubt it makes a reasonable difference though, I barely notice it, barely. Some might also like the missing logo in the bottom right. They seem to be going back over $250 now which might be something to consider if you make open offers. I personally would shoot for a black version since some of the white cases discolored a little bit.

I would also try ebay, but get creative with the search words. Unfortunately at this point I think everyone has wised up.
If the HHKB Pro III (cue ripster) shows up this month I might just sell you mine. :P

Where do you see information on a HHKB Pro 3? :O
I hope they wise up and revert to a more standard layout... the only reason I haven't bought one yet is because the backspace is abnormal and there's no caps lock

I believe the HHKB 3 rumours are perpetual.

You can access Caps on the HHKB by using function+Tab. The backspace key being above the Return key seems odd at first, but it's super-easy to get used to.
