Played a Barbarian until level 13 earlier. I love being back in my childhood, but can anyone explain why it took so many years to develop this game? Too many trips to Starbucks and the bank is my guess .

They only started development 4 years ago, blizz north's d3 was scrapped.  I like the new gfx and improvements

The graphics are great, but the colorful shader KILLS the "dark" Diablo atmosphere.  Here's a nice fix: http://darkd3.com/

Really enjoying my monk, well into act 3 at the moment but i do agree on the lack of "dark" style, it is a let down. Apart from that this is an incredible game. I do find it funny how much people are whining tho, kids have no patience. I grew up having to load games from tapes or 20 floppy disks with no patching or support for bugs, they just don't know how easy they have it.

When I was your age, we had to TYPE IN our games from source code, EVERY time we wanted to play!  :-p

I considered getting diablo II, but I'm not appreciating the intrusive nature of games these days. It seems like every time I turn one on it requires 15 min of "updating" and tons of god knows what phone homing. No thanks.

The graphics are getting spectacular though.

i found it fun now that i found the option so i can actually customize my build, instead of the carry along option they had going.

also the reason i bought diablo3 (well 2 copies) is to play with the fiance', she took my cherry modded mice for her laptops but kept a logitech 510(i think) around and she didn't want me to mod it. Since we haven't played a pc game since eq2, 3 years ago i tested out diablo 3 on her system (to make sure it didn't overheat, blah, blah) wow, 2 hours of gaming with a regular non cherry modded mouse, hurt my finger, index finger feels numb =(

plus game suxors, silly drm and needing to logon to play single player.

I'm trying so hard to enjoy this but the lag and server issues are absolutely killing the enjoyment for me.
