Help in Mechanical Keyboard
« on: Thu, 17 May 2012, 15:51:48 »
Hi,
I want to buy my first mechanical keyboard but i can't spend too much money.
I found the follow keyboards:
-Cherry G80-3000LSCDE-2 (http://www.amazon.de/Cherry-G80-3000LSCDE-2-Tastatur-USB-schwarz/dp/B000NDD524/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337286874&sr=8-1)
-Cherry G80-3000LQCDE-2 (http://www.amazon.de/Cherry-G80-3000LQCDE-2-Tastatur-USB-schwarz/dp/B000TNEVBC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1337286874&sr=8-3)
Can you confirm the type of switches of those keyboards?
I'm from Portugal and here, the only mechanical keyboards in the market are the steelseries 6g/7g and razer blackwidow (I'm not really a fan of products made for gaming).
I have no problem in buy from amazon.
I want the keyboard for typing (programming) and play starcraft 2.
As you have more experience than me, i want to know what you think.
Thank you.

WTGH.
How much money are you willing to spend?
Which switches do you prefer:Cheery MX (Red, Black, Brown, Blue)?
Teen Key Less (TKL)  or full size keyboard?
With or without lights on each key?
New or Second Hand?

cheers

Ah, these Cherry costs ~65euros. I can't pay much more :/

Well, i never used a mechanical keyboard... so i don't know. That's why i tell you what i want to do with the keyboard (typing and starcraft2). I believe this also depends of person. But i really don't know...

full size
-With or without lights on each key?
Doesn't matter
-New or Second Hand?
For 70euros i think i would find a better one in second hand. But i prefer a new one.

your budget is kinda low.

Are you sure you want to invest in a good keyboard if you are not ready to pull out a decent amount of money ?

You should maybe save up and buy one later, or just go with a cheap one. Nothing wrong with it, everybody has his own priorities in life.

Are you saying that the G80-3000 don't worth the money?
My desktop keyboard is broken, and as i need to spend some money, i was thinking in buying something better.
Is the steelseries 6g better than this cherrys?

Deskthority.net has a German subforum that may make it easier for you.

But you are looking at the Blue Cherry (LSC) and the Clear Cherry (LQC).

Google

Ah, the lonely writer.  Reminds me of me in my little ol' subforum.

Thank you, I'll search there

Cherry G80-3000 in my opinion is a really good keyboard, and I would recommend it. The quality is good for the price. I use the G80-3000LSCRC-2 with cherry MX blue switches and I love it. If you don't like the switches you could change them without having to buy a brand new keyboard.
