Ducky Shine - Backlighting

Have one.  When backlighting is off, the "1X" is still lit.  Any way to turn this off?  Kind of a distraction.

I don't believe there is a way to turn it off.  I have the same keyboard and never found a way to do this.

Remove the led? It's like other things that have a bright as 1000 suns led when the device is off. I never understand this.

Good idea.  Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks (at least this old dog )

Cover the LED with a bit of blu-tack. Even if you can't get the perfect amount on there to block it off completely, you'll at least significantly dim it. :)

Replace the key cap with a non-transparent one?  The LED will still shine, but won't shine through the key.

It kinda stands out on mine - one blue light amidst all the red backlighting elsewhere (oh, and caps lock too, but not that I use that key much).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The lights on the top right 'media' keys should have 1x, 2x, 3x, and 4x on them.  It represents the speed at which the keys are sent to the computer.  2x - 4x are all used for gaming.  4x is actually very funny if you try typing with it as it will lllllloooooookkkkkkkkkkk lllllliiiiiiikkkkkkkeeeeee tttttthhhhhhiiiiiiiiisssssss.

We get asked this question often, but there is no way to turn all 4 of the lights off at once.  1 of them always has to be on.  Like rowdy mentioned, you may go with a non-translucent cap to minimize the effect.
