They are listed for around those prices. Last time I saw one, it was full-aluminum for $425.

I am very curious to read a true side-by-side comparison between the original and the modern reproduction. Somehow, I am having trouble believing that the internals could equal the old ones, although I do believe that the cases could be better. And if they are good aluminum then I would want a raw unpainted one, if I was in this game.

What are the hard-to-find "awesome legends" just out of curiosity? I have dismantled several M/F terminals and I probably have a bag of non-standard keys such as PD1.

I've only seen PD3 on a F62. I guess the rest could be taken from a F122, if the stepped Enter and Reset keys are 1.5u. Didn't know there was so much crossover!

A quick look through one jar shows a lot of PAs but no PDs. I am sure that there are more elsewhere.

Not being a purist, when I remodel these things I set them up the way I really want to use them, and look for key caps that say what they really are.

Not sure...given the hype around blue alps recently. I don't see why someone wouldn't pay $1-1.25 per switch. Not really sure how significant the case/caps are in terms of value.

They have been selling on ebay at or above $100 for a while. The caps are doubleshots but lack many proper modifiers and are very prone to yellowing and shine.

I picked mine up for 80$ + shipping, but that seems to be a decent deal after seeing some of the ebay listings recently. This keyboard has fewer switches than some of those did though, not sure if it matters all that much.

Sorry you've not gotten any input. It goes for $140 new, and LEDs are standard, so maybe $120? Depending on what USB you're using that could also affect the price. I'd have to see the specific one though.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry, i knew the LED's were standard, but I had them changed from the stock blue to white so I could use RGB LED covers on them down the road if I wanted (never did). The removable cable was a mod, and it's a cable made my 90n1ne in grey with 1 foot of large coil and 6 feet of straight cable, white heatshrink, all with the techflex option to help keep coil retention.

I was thinking of selling this board towards the purchase of a cherry mx board 6.0 - anyone have any experience with that keyboard?

Got a couple here:

G80-1814HEU with original Cherry Style Keycaps and MX clears. It has one broken Clear stem and a missing a keycap (which I beleieve I may have an SP cherry profile replacement for). Distributed by Seimens. Keycaps are like new with no shine (as seen in pics) and it hasn't been cleaned yet (white on there is just some powder).

Focus FK-9000 with Alps White SKCM programmable keyboard. No yellowing and LCD does work, just dim. My husband seems to have taken this for himself for some of the vintage computers since its XT-AT compatible.

Not Pictured: Texas Instruments branded Acer KB-101A with Alps Blue. Yellowed case, but no staining.

Maybe something like $30 or $40? It's only really useful for more than the switches if someone has an extra case lying around.

According to pcpartpicker, it's going for $80 at the cheapest end, with over $100 on the high end brand new. So I'd think at least $50-60.

I would say so. They go for about $100-110 retail, but they've been out of stock for a while. $90-100 BNIB would be fair, and $80 seems very good to me.

Good to know. So now the question is am I really going to feel anything different than Logtich g710 or the tvs e-gold which both also have blues.

Lots. Considering the main source for them is an IBM 5140 and those rarely go for under $100, you're probably looking at $2 a switch, maybe $2.50 a switch.
