I'm rather amazed no one else seems to care that imsto took 5 weeks to ship and only some of the orders. I paid the same day my invoice went out and it still hasn't been sent. In the real world that's called bad service.
are you new to group buys?
im just wondering as normally from payment till receiving the keycaps, they can go anywhere from 1-2 months.
Production was completed on 1/27.
Unfortunately, we hit the Chinese New Years holiday shutdown. IMSTO cannot control the whole country shutting down for a week+
This is hardly my first group buy, but the only time I saw someone delay this long after production was complete and shipping was paid for was Changdrew and we all know how that ended. As you say, production was completed by 1/27, which was when we paid for shipping, with the understanding that that was when packages were going out. The group buy itself was paid for last year.
I'm not sure how you are connecting a 1 week+ holiday, that ended over 2 weeks ago, with taking 5 weeks to ship. All of these packages have an acceptance date of 3/4, indicating they were dropped off at the post office a few days ago. I've already received multiple packages sent by China air mail that were ordered all throughout February, so this has nothing to do with holidays and the postal system.
personally i didn't expect the keys to go out on exactly the 27th of january when shipping was paid.
Realistically i expected a week or so to collect all the shipping payment and arrange to ship altogether. This isn't an individual order, i would assume bulk orders have to be received and would process together. I did think it would ship out the week of the 4th before chinese new years, but with the talk about key problems from our Asian members who received some orders, i wasn't gonna be shocked with a delay.
As IvanIvan (god damn the name lol) said, IMSTO had to recheck the order and they had to wait on some more production.
The earliest production can go into effect in China was 2/18. I dunno how long it takes to run production, lets say a week.
Gets to IMSTO on the 25th (again just estimate), and he has to verify all the orders ready to ship.
It ships out 3/5, meh a week delay perhaps.
Personally for GB i don't expect fast, prompt shipping. I always assume something happens that causes some sort of delay lol.
Now if you were dealing with a retailer, then i can understand your frustration. But you're not, you're dealing with a community driven group buy, there's no promise on delivery date. Being a community thing, i have a little more patience.
Also im conditioned that group buys take forever, as with the OCN Gentle Typhoons Group buy that went on for a year and a half from payment till i received my fans lol.....
