Vintage keyswitches, Alps or compatible (Apple 2/clone)
« on: Tue, 29 May 2012, 21:45:35 »
Hi all - I was referred here as the sort of place someone might know where to look, or even have a few lying around - I need one keyswitch for an Apple 2 clone keyboard. These switches are clones of the Alps ones used in standard Apple 2 keyboards, I think they were basically the same, or close enough, in the original Apple 2, the Plus, and 2e. I bet they were used in a lot of other keyboards in the late 70s/early 80s too. I've attached a picture of the broken switch, and one of its OK neighbours. The mounting (cross) shaft height is about 5mm, but anything up to 10mm would be OK (and longer, I could trim back).

So - any info on where to look? Or might someone here have some that they'd be willing to sell and send (I'm in New Zealand)?

Thanks
Mike
