^like the title states i want a keyboard that's similiar to the steelseries 6gv2 (with its play/pause, forward/back, mute, and vol up/down) and is full sized

reason why i dont want the ss 6gv2 is because i already have one and want to try something new...also it seems like a pain in the ass to find a custom keycap for that giant enter button :P

any suggestions would be nice :)

I'm pretty sure you could use Auto Hot Key for that?
If you didn't mind doing that, any keyboard would work.

Maybe an old Point of Sale keyboard (cherry, tipro, etc…)?

I'll look into some ducky models, though, I'm not a person that needs any kind of backlighting.

True, but I'm rather unfamiliar with the program :/

I've also been looking around a bit more and noticed that there are some models of the Das keyboards that have the media keys whereas some don't. Anyone care to explain?

Camo is available in 104, sure camo design is not for everyone but it's only Filco with media function I think. Could maybe trade someone for plain case or worst case rewrap in something else like di-noc.

di-noc is carbon fiber like, some people around here used it to cover their CMStorm. Don't think you can buy Filco 104 replacement case, but someone might trade it.

Speaking of the CM Storm, the CM Storm Pro has media keys mapped to all of the F-Keys and a special Function key used to access them. Also, you can turn the backlight off if you don't like it.

It's not that hard to learn, and key remapping is trivial. Something like this should be all you need (using the same keys as the Camo):

Code: [Select]

F1::Volume_Up
F2::Volume_Mute
F3::Volume_Down
F5::Media_Prev
F6::Media_Play_Pause
F7::Media_Stop
F8::Media_Next

You may wish to include shift (+F1), ctrl (^F1), alt (!F1) or Win (#F1), or all of the above (+^!#F1) in place of the Fn key before the ::, if you're one of the two people on Planet Earth who actually uses the function keys for their intended purposes.

I've included additional lines in my own script to hide the tray icon, exit the script, reload the script, open the script in my text editor, along with a custom bindings for extended ASCII and Unicode characters, ^D for console windows etc. Good for adding, changing or removing bindings from other applications, as you can configure the commands to be window-specific. For example, I've blocked F11 (open Winamp) when DOSBox is active, so that I don't fall out of full-screen Worms games when I want to prod the enemy to death.

Personally, I have bound Pause/Break for pause, Ctrl+Numą for volume (doesn't affect system volume (die in a fire, waveout)), and Ctrl+Shift+Numą for next/previous track directly inside Winamp (doesn't work with mp3Cue annoyingly). Doesn't work with TKL ;-)

I personally love the Mionix Zibal 60...if you want cherry black switches it is one of the better options but a bit expensive at 140 bucks. There is also an monoprice cherry black board without the backlighting for around 100. It's a rebranded qpad board. I've got the cherry red backlit one and the switches are a bit light for me so I stick with my Mionix most of the time. All three obviously have media keys which I like to have.

Hmm, this sounds a lot easier than I thought lol! I might actually try doing this instead! Seriously, thanks for the input :)
