Auto typing application

Hi there

I’m looking for a program that I used many years ago. Its main use is auto typing for people who may write letters that contain the same paragraphs and sentences multiple times per day.

You would type in the commonly used paragraphs or sentences and assign them either, a hotkey or combination of characters. The program would then run in the background and not have to be actively used, therefore increasing productivity.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the program I am talking about or suggest one that does exactly the same?

I used to use KeyText. Although it was at work, and I didn't pay for the license (they did) but it worked great for closing tickets with very similar resolutions (like resetting lotus notes passwords and such).

Autohotkey is worth a look,  but it's a lot more work to setup.   You can remap keys with it too.  It's free.

Another option is macro express,  while it isn't great for autotext it is great for setting up a macro within a few minutes of installation.  You can record a macro,  or code one up (either by editing a recorded one, or starting from scratch).  Sadly, it's not free.
