Well, that day is my son's birthday, so I doubt I'd be able to sneak to the range.  (the nearest is > hour away)  Any reason it has to be the same day, vs in say a week range?

You don't have to shoot on that day. You just have to submit your best score on that day so winner can be announced the next Monday. You can start shooting right now. You can shoot as many time as you want and keep getting better score. Ammo cost will limit how many time you want to shoot.

Ah, got it! Yeah, ammo cost (and availability) means I'm probably going to have 5 tries, and that's it.

Have you tested to see if it will make a hole from 15 yards?

Not yet, I got a printable target today, so I was going to try and test it this evening or tomorrow.

Hmmm, I'll send one of my .22s over. I think it will fit in USPS small priority box. You can send it back when you're done.

Here's the target I made. Just in case anyone didn't have any handy. It's actual size and printable on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

Thanks, SmallFry. But it's not the same as official target for the competition. On official target the 8 and 9 circles are smaller.

I actually have a nerf gun quite like that. I have modified it to remove the air restrictions, allowed for the cylinder to come completely out, and placed some pennies behind the spring to decrease the spring travel distance, thus increasing the force. :P

Yup, 15 yards is the rule. One bullet "got away".

Got my Nerf StrongArm from Walmart. My TruGlo red dot does stay on pretty good.
