Key layout, primarily. Pure puts the tilde (~) key to the right of the right shift key. The right shift key is also shorter as a result.

The Race has an extra row of keys along the top and right for F-row, print screen/delete/etc.

The only con I see is that you will need to re-train your muscle memory for the tilde displacement on the Pure. The Pure also moves the arrow cluster in an odd place.

If you are coming from using a Poker, I would probably skip the Pure and go for the Race.

Pure is has no dedicated F row. It's hard for me when I play BF3. I not good in combination keys on Pure. So, I do like Race much better (But Race F row is pain)

If I'm not a gamer, then these things don't matter, and the Pure might be a better choice?

I'm trying to remember why you need a function key in BF3, or even the last time I used one in game, or just the last time I used one at all. Voting?

You should really just look at the layouts of both side by side, and take note of all the function layer keys; which ones you think you'll need/use and how comfortable they may be for you to use. I have the found the Pure is great for me but a lot of others don't seem to agree. And also keep in mind the Pure has a near standard layout of keys, bar right shift and tilde, while the Race has a non standard layout.

No, I stopped playing before all the patches came in. Was it free?
