Japanese shopping
« on: Wed, 13 June 2012, 10:09:21 »
Hello guys,

I am lucky enough to travell to Japan soon and quite naturally I want to take advantage of it and buy me some nice board.
I am interested in KBT 75% race, Nopoo choc mini or some Ducky in similar size. I swooped through Ripsters guide to shopping in Japan and I was unable to find these products in their online shops. If you could navigate me to a good place in Tokyo or Osaka that have theese keyboards I will send some cool keyboard pictures that I will take there in return...(thats the least I can do...)
Tenkeyless Filcos nad such should not be so hard to find...in Tokyo especially...I just want to try those 75% pieces first hand first because in central Europe its hopless...

Thanks Mater

I don't think you can find Race 75% or Nopoo choc mini in Japan.

Diatec is in Japan.  You might get a Filco that's not available here.

Plenty of electronics stores in Akihabara when you're in Tokyo.  You should at least be able to find Topre and Filco-manufactured boards, and I'm sure there are other import mech boards in electronics enthusiast shops, though I haven't been in several years.

try yodobashi akiba - next to Akihabara station.  I know they sell HHKB so likely do other mechanical boards as well.

I miss being able to buy Pocari Sweat....

Yodobashi Camera is a huge mega-chain, so they may have some of the more commonly-available stuff.  There are plenty of smaller stores a few blocks into the district, and it's great just wandering the narrow streets sometimes, seeing live performances from amateur musicians or wannabe idols, etc.  Great place.
