Howdy! I'm interested in buying the new Commodore 64x but I can't find any detailed pictures of the keyboard (esp. keycaps) Anybody?

A Co-worker and I walked across the street to the factory, but the windows are blacked out and they have a buzzer lock on the door.  We were hoping that they perhaps had a show room or something.  Sadly, no.  I'm going to email them and see if we can get a look inside.

Plate mount MX blues with flat profile keycap. I don't own one, price is too high for what it is in my opinion.

Those keycaps look pretty nice, though. I wonder who they got to make them?

How expensive is it?

99% sure they are SP keycaps. $345 for just the keyboard and case only... and it gets more and more outrageous as you choose from Atom to i7 based system... they have Apple style pricing. Their top end system is like $1500.

That's not exactly so outrageous if you consider that with inflation taken into account, the original Commodore 64 cost about $1,416.99.

Not really. Price per MIP/FLOP may have decreased, but at the same time an i7 is 10s of thousands of times more powerful than the C64.

Yeah, but consider you can roll your own equivalent spec system for much less... it's still in the realm of Apple overpricing for the aesthetics.

The comment was about the original Commodore 64, not an I7 based computer. But sure if you want a modern computer that LOOKS like a C64 then OK but otherwise you can get the same power for less.

Sure but I was replying to your post about the original C64 not an I7. If you want an I7 that looks like a C64 then this is for you, otherwise you can get an I7 for less.
