My impression with Kinesis Advantage.
« on: Sat, 23 June 2012, 12:40:58 »
Hi, as a translator, I type for a living. For more than a decade I've been typing on various incarnation of rubber dome keyboards. I have felt marginal pain and discomfort, unaware of the available options. Until recently had I discovered what "mech board" is all about and decided to take the plunge. But instead of spending a hundred plus for flat mech board to improve ergonomic and still stuck with flawed layout, I decided to add another hundred plus and get myself a black Kinesis Advantage. The board arrived, and after having adjusted and used for 2 days, it was the first time I have no pain (fingers and shoulders) at the end of the working day. The key switches and contoured shape are the most contributing factor. I have been carrying it to and from works on weekends. Flat boards now feel tiresome. I'm happy with my decision and this has given me a true Advantage (pun intended). :-)

It's amazing how you move your finger just a little, and the next key is right there under it, almost waiting for you to press it. Welcome to GH, Vatin. Thanks for your review, and I am sincerely glad you enjoy your kinesis.

Have you consider'd modding it? I hear that adding "palm keys" can be really handy.
