New Theme
« on: Wed, 18 July 2012, 22:15:34 »
Such things are subjective, but PLEASE LORD, PLEASE.  This is temporary, yes?  Can we have a more neutral theme?  Black or white or grey... maybe with some orange text or whatever, but not a cream orange everywhere.

What about starting with one of these and modify accordingly?

Micolo looks like a good one to start.

I'd be happy to pick up the tab and perform basic modifications.

You can change it. There are a few options available. They're also all temporary afaik.

we're very accepting of new themes but have our hands full at the moment

I just uploaded a previous incarnation of the default theme, Thoriated.  It's much more tame than Oranje (which looked fine to me though blood-shot eyes at 3am this morning).  :)

Everyone should be on the new theme now.  The simple (white) theme is still there, as well as Oranje if you love it as much as I apparently did.

I like the "Oranje" theme, but the salmon color is not exactly what I was hoping for. It's still my theme of choice though :D.

Is someone playing with the themes? Everything seems to be smaller and smaller suddenly :)

Personally, I think we should have two main GH themes once things get up to that point - one dark and one white. This way people can change between them according to their preference.

I'd go with a dark theme for the default again, myself. I find white themes to be quite hard on my eyes.

I'm content with what we have right now, but would love to see a "Classic" GH theme developed.

I love the new theme! I hated how dark the old one was, made it hard to read!

now that we have a brief respite i'm going to work on refining this theme to form a unified UI for the forum. we'll then offer that UI with a number of different color and banner options

to all the brilliant friends who have left us, and all the students who climb on their shoulders.

That's great. Give me a black and orange version and I'm happy as a lark. :)

Is it possible to see in which topics new posts are? And a link to the last unread post? Or am I unable to see it? :D

Oh, it's on the far far right. I see it now (so far away on my 27 incher).
How can I determine that there is a new post? Left Icons do not seem to change?

e: Got it now, there's a "New" Text behind the topic name
