this one time in band camp, i played the trumpet.

Hey man, I played trumpet... in band.   Never went to camp tho.

Me too!

Also, I know who sent these. This person admitted it with several pieces of photo evidence (which also served to prove the adorableness of his cat) somewhere on the internet in a public thread. I won't say who though, because that would ruin the fun of watching you all squirm :P

My only regret is not having my address in this legendary person's address book T.T

he has claimed to have sent them several times. however, he has not presented any evidence that corroborates this story, and i can think of several reasons offhand why it is highly unlikely that the culprit is him.

The suspense is boring me ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

So, there are more of the first mystery keycaps in circulation.  We went to SP yesterday for our meet up.  In our goodie bags, we each received a blue mystery keycap.  I have 2 of them now.  Anyone want to trade your orange/black mystery keycap for one of my blue ones?

At one time, he was a valued member of this community. He contributed greatly to the wiki, and to overall knowledge and Keyboard Science. He tried to help n00bs, without making them feel like idiots for asking questions. He considered himself to be the #1 Keyboard Expert on the Planet.

Then something happened, and I'm not sure quite what it was. He had arguments with some members, and got himself banned for a short time. When he came back, he quickly evolved into nothing but a troll. Got himself permanently banned from GH. Then the R00tW0RM incident took down GH, and we all found temporary refuge on Deskthority, until iMav, mkawa, and the other admins could get the site rebuilt. Big thanks to webwit for allowing us to camp there, now that I mention it. While there, ripster got himself banned from DT, as well. Now he has resigned himself to Reddit, and still holds a grudge, as you say.

whiskerBox sent 5 to tjcaustin and 4 to NikoGasm. I got one from tjcaustin, and, I'm guessing here, so did The_Beast, kmiller8, and kellybear. I think NikoGasm was sending 3 to Alessandro, but I lost the thread after that.

The only thing that I actually care about when it comes to these is why the people that get them are chosen.
I enjoy that I got the white on blue one, but am wondering what I did right/wrong to not deserve the second one =p.

When I saw this thread resurrected, I thought maybe there was a third one doing the rounds.
And I bet they still won't make it to Australia if there is a third :P

I have one of the second batch :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
